Michelle Obama Goes For Bike Ride In Khaki Shorts, New Sneakers (PHOTOS)

It wouldn't be an Obama Family Vacation without a bike ride and Friday's weather was too gorgeous to pass up. For the occasion, Michelle went biker--er, bicycler chic, in a blue tank top, khaki shorts and some new kicks. She accessorized with sunglasses and of course, a helmet. Take a look:

The Chicago Tribune made fun of Obama's helmet in today's issue (funny they didn't when W was seen wearing it repeatedly)

They're role models whether some of you (tyro,,,,,,,,etc.) like it or not...kids NEED to see adults "do as I do" as much as possible.

What a breath of fresh air our First Family is. Cracks me up that Little Glenny Beck whines about her clothes because he can't come up with anything of substance. The Obamas consistently take the high road while the rw's and teapartiers never seem to get out of the gutter.

Michelle, you're a heroine to so many women. I'm only sorry that some Americans don't seem to Get It.

She should raise the saddle a little and get some stiff-soled shoes, and shorts with no seams (those ugly biking shorts) to prevent chafing and pressure sores. Those adjustments would help make her much more comfy. Her helmet is properly adjusted for saving her head instead of her hairdo.

for the love of all that's holy... can't a person just get on a bike and go for a ride without everyone and their grandmother giving advice on how they "should" be doing it? i moved to Montreal last year (i'm a NYC girl). everyone here rides around town as long as there's no snow on the ground... whether a short ride to the store or commuting to/from work. i see folks in jeans, suits, skirts, and even dress shoes happily going about their business. not everyone is obsessed with trying to look like they're training for some major event at all times. and, yes... i am wasting my time to criticize, since you found it necessary to do the same.

I know nothing about biking since I have an inner ear problem and can't balance. She looks like she is having fun, and she looks great. I like the way she looks in clothes that show her shape but am glad she didn't go with the tight biking pants. Those are some ugly things.

the great thing about our First Lady is that, not having started her career as model, she does not feel a need to spend every waking moment striking a pose to make sure the camera constantly pointed at her gets the 'right shot'.
