Summer's Eve Advertorial Implies You Haven't Gotten A Raise Because You Have Bad Hygiene Down There (PHOTO)

First Posted: 08/27/2010 8:32 am   Updated: 05/25/2011 5:30 pm

The Daily Kos came across a pretty interesting advertorial sponsored by Summer's Eve in Women's Day. Entitled "Confidence a Work: How to Ask for a Raise," you'd think it might contain tips like "Focus on the things you've done to improve the bottom line," or, "Don't let the conversation stray," or, "Eat a healthy breakfast." And it does...right after tip #1:

"It should start with your usual routine and all the things you do to feel you best, including showering with Summer's Eve Feminine Wash or throwing a packet of Summer's Eve Feminine Cleansing Cloths into your bag for a quick freshness pick-me-up during the day."

Take a look and tell us what you think.

And here I was thinking I haven't gotten a raise because of the recession. Silly me. Feminine hygiene will save the economy!

And if I don't "rinse?" Will I just have myself to blame if I don't get the job because of the way my vagina smells (or doesn't)? I'll take my chances

Who buys this %&&*? Please tell me people know this disrupts your body's natural hygiene and is BAD for you? Time for a boycott of the whoever manufactures this. It starts with a swipe at your self-esteem by telling you there's something basically wrong with you that you have to carry their product to fix, before "helping you out" with "tips" that you'd only need if lobotomized. They need to lose money over this.

15% of women have slept with their boss, 37% of those have gotten a promotion for it. Maybe they are onto something

Kidding aside, this ad is ridiculous, not sure how it even passed the sniff test.

Ridiculous AND insulting! I am so sick of these fear-mongering ads from women's products. They only serve to destroy self-esteem and cause stress where there is NO reason for it at all. They don't just prey on insecurity, they create it!

Hi I am Angela Bryant, Summer’s Eve Brand Manager. I would like to first of all apologize if this ad in anyway has offended anyone. We are taking immediate next steps to remove the ad from circulation. We want you to know that Fleet Laboratories and the Summer’s Eve brand have the utmost respect for women.
