Beck Borrows Lines From Obama 2008 Stump Speech During DC Rally

WASHINGTON — Glenn Beck is borrowing some lines from President Barack Obama.

At his rally with tens of thousands on the steps of Lincoln Memorial, Beck used the closing lines of then-candidate Obama's campaign stump speech of 2008.

"One man can change the world," Beck told the crowd. "That man or woman is you. You make the difference."

Obama used a similar message on the campaign trail. He used to say that one voice could change a room, one room could change a city, and one city could change a state. Obama liked to say that state could change a country and urged supporters to go out and change the world.

Beck says his supporters should do the same.

He says, "Look to the heavens. Look to God. And make your choice."

First, Beck steals the message of Dr. King to replace it with a message of "honor the wealthy" and then he steals lines from the president whom he has accused of being a racist with a deep-seated hatred to white people. History may look at Beck as just another fool in a great chorus of fools in our day, but I think he is very dangerous. He does not have the attention span to make his ridiculous statements  Read More...

Sarah Palin couldn't handle Alaska for more than two years. Heck, she couldn't handle Levi!

Neither she nor Glenn will be restoring anything beyond their own bank accounts...

AP was very good Picking up that thanks, FOX and Morning Joe and CNN won't talk about this, they will be busy Picking apart President Obama Speech, or Blaming him for Spewing this Hate in NY, this is What Morning Joe show said Friday, they blame everything going on in NY on the President, When really Palin, Newt and Peter King started Spewing the Hate, Yesterday the President still stand by his word, he told Brain Williams he never change his what he said they twisted his words

"One man can change the world" came out of the 80's hit TV show Knight Rider, starring David Hasselhoff. I think Kit the talking car told that to Michael Knight (Hasselhoff). I'm sure that wasn't the first time.

I know, and they would also lose about 30 seats in the Senate and about 150 in the House. We could be looking at a permanent Democrat majority if only Palin will run. Please, Sarah, run for president!!!!

Amazing isn't it? If President ( or candidate) Obama had done this, HuffPo would have this up in a two inch headline, and Fox Entertainment would be going crazy, 24/7 with ALL the latest details.

Yet, it's Glenn Beck who lies EVERY SINGLE DAY on his show, so it's not very newsworthy, and is buried almost at the bottom of this page.

Ho hum. Another day, another conservative LYING.

Beck is out of his mind. Always has been. He is using speech from the same people he calls a cancer in washington.

He will not tell the truth to save his own life.

He's not getting paid to tell the truth. What does it say about modern society that liars thrive and the truth is rejected as worthless by these same merchants of this "new morality"?

Glen Beck had to go religious with his speech because a political message would require he include an actual plan for how we could in fact, restore honor.

With religion he already had a built in, hyper-anxious audience ready to support his every word as he told that audience everyone in America needs to be more like them.

A political speech would require a more detailed explanation than looking to God, praying or whatever it is every Christian leader repeats across the country each week.

Prayer is a form of free speech, but even free speech cannot be freely exercised any time or anywhere. So what exactly did telling his audience that already prays and looks accomplish?

All it could have done was further differentiate those responding positively from everyone else. But better a million or two fervent listeners than 10, 20 or 30 million waiting to be convinced.

No, If Mr. Beck’s (only) answer to what ails America is for America to become as unto him, then he’s not even a (good) religious leader.

So he’s too politically inept to lead politically, and too self-righteous to lead any but those who are also self-righteous.

And given the two anniversaries of this weekend, I’d have to say Glen Beck’s wishes for America are closer to that of Hurricane Katrina’s, then those of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s.

Beck could not go political; too many were watching him. Spewing his h8 would have been revealed even more. He could not hawk his book, either. It was ALL about Beck anyway, but he could not go completely overboard.

The point was to marry the teabaggers with the religious right. See, the teabags are religious and all but they're not affiliated with the American Taliban just yet. Beck is trying to bridge that gap so he can bring them further into the republican tent.

Love what Mr. Beck has done, whether it was 80,000 or 300,000 you can be assured there are many americans that are fed up with the way our country is headed and at the ballot box we will let it be known. We are fed up with politicans that will do anything to get elected, then ignoring us once they are in. Its time to break up the old boys club. We can no longer have men and women spend 15-30 years as elected officials, they end up loosing touch with us and care more about protecting there own job then doing the job they were elected to. Two examples Sen. John McCain and Gov. Charlie Crist one moved from being the moderate he was to a consevative and the other once he realized he was not going to win his parties nomination he runs as a independent.

I'm fed up too, and I am voting as well -- to get rid of as many obstructionist GOPers as possible.

But you do raise one very good point. Politics should not be a career. It does seem that after awhile, those inside the Beltway get a diferent sense of the world. That said, it was some of those same political "lifers" who pushed through landmark legislation.

As for what Beck has done, I hope the result is unifying. I am concerned that it may not be.

Personally I don't care how long a politician is in office, as long as he or she continues to operate on the mandate of the electorate. What I don't understand is why people keep on voting for candidates who again and again put their own and corporate interests above the needs and interests of their constituency.

Unifying in what sense is my concern. There's unity, but it's h8. Also, there's plenty of greed for $$$$ and the limelight at any costs for GB. He has First Amendment Rights, but he has reached a point that he believes that he can say anything. He is a fear mongorer.

Right on Brother!

We're fed up with Politicians who swear an oath to uphold office, only to quit when they realize there's more money to be made as a shill for the far-right

We're tired of lying, manipulative faux media personalities who call the President a racist and implore their viewers tro bouycott churches that preach social justice as it's a codeword for communism

Throw the bums out!
