Ocean Water Testing At California Beaches Drops To New Low

LOS ANGELES (KTLA)-- Health testing at California beaches has dropped to its lowest level since ocean monitoring became mandatory more than a decade ago.

Beaches from San Diego to the Bay Area are being tested less often and in fewer locations, and some go untested for months, KTLA partner, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.

According to state records analyzed by The Times, the number of annual tests for bacteria has been nearly cut in half since 2005.
