THE SKINNY: LACMA Celebrates New Pavilion And Growing Costume Collection

WHO: Host committee includes Shelli Azoff, Eva Chow, David Geffen, Carole Bayer Sager, Michael Milken, and Jane Nathanson.
WHAT: LACMA's Resnick Pavilion Opening Gala
WHEN: Saturday, September 25
WHERE: LACMA
5905 Wilshire Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90036
WHY: A major part of Los Angeles' emergence as an epicenter of art has been the steady expansion of LACMA. This fall will see the opening of the new Renzo Piano designed Resnick Pavilion (opening to the public in October) and a costume and textiles collection expanded to rival the best. To celebrate these two new developments, LACMA will host a gala on September 25 hosted by a selection of their board members. The slideshow below shows some exterior shots of the new Pavilion and a selection of the new costumes to be exhibited inside.

Eva Chow: "This gala is not only a celebration of the Resnick Pavilion but of the Resnicks themselves who have been so generous both to LACMA and the community as a whole - it is going to be an unbelievably spectacular evening that people will be talking about for years to come".

Jane Nathanson: "The Resnick Gala promises to be a one-of-a-kind party of the year--filled with surprises, stunning visuals, incredible food and wine, and a performance by Christina Aguilera. We are thrilled to celebrate the unparalleled generosity of Lynda and Stewart Resnick and this spectacular addition to LACMA."
