Alvin Greene danced, then struggled with tough questions during a radio interview in Charlotte, North Carolina.

South Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Alvin Greene showed some new moves during a radio interview in Charlotte, North Carolina, Monday, though few of them appeared likely to be politically helpful to the long-shot candidate's lagging campaign. That's because they were dance moves, if you can call them that, and, although entertaining, they stand out as the highlight in an otherwise minimally productive exchange.

After being whisked up from his home in Manning, South Carolina and taken, via limousine, to Charlotte -- a journey that cost $575 round trip, according to the Charlotte Observer -- Greene sat down with WBT-AM's Keith Larson, who, despite it being the Senate hopeful's 33rd birthday, grilled him with some difficult questions.

Greene was as evasive as ever when asked about his pending felony pornography indictment.

"There's a process for it," Greene said. "It's overdue. It should have been dealt with."

Asked about the veracity of the charges, Greene again dodged, telling Larson, "that's all I have to say about it."

Despite the lack of new answers on Greene's legal troubles, the Senate seeker did give a little insight into his obscure political ideology, explaining that he was pro-choice, but opposed to same-sex marriage and against the overturn of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Greene initial analysis of cap-and-trade legislation was that it had "too many restraints," but he was only able to give this answer after Larson explained the nature of the proposed energy plan. The Observer also reports that Greene appeared to be stumped by a question on birthright citizenship and the 14th Amendment.

With Greene giving little else in terms of meaningful clarification, the interview's highlight then seemed to come when Larson played a viral video hit called "Alvin Greene is On the Scene," which produced an interesting dance session from the surprise Senate candidate.

Watch Alvin Greene dance during a radio appearance on Charlotte's WBT-AM (1110):

I realize their current pay may seem high to some people, but remember that members of congress typically need to fund two separate households. Also, the nature of their job requires socialization with the upper class executives that don't dine at Burger King, so the expenses of doing business can get quite high.

He still sounds more intelligent than both Sharon Angle and the media darling the clueless half-governor Sistah Sara Palin aka Caribou Barbie. It seems certain publications enjoy poking fun at Mr. Greene but those same publications take Palin as a serious contender for President in 2012. What gives. Btw, What are the plans of the current Senator Jim DeMint to get South Carolinians back to work, none I guess based on the lack of coverage by the MSM.

Someone please tell Greene to stop taking Larson's bait. He's only making a bigger fool of himself than he already has.

I have often felt that one of the reason public officials are so susceptible to corruption is the lack of financial compensation they receive. Would an increased pay scale improve the caliber of candidates that attempt to win elections? I realize their current pay may seem high to some people, but remember that members of congress typically need to fund two separate households. Also, the nature of their job requires socialization with the upper class executives that don't dine at Burger King, so the expenses of doing business can get quite high. When you consider these factors and compare congressional pay rates with the world of business executives, its no wonder that more educated and qualified people don't attempt to get into politics.

This is how far we've devolved. These are some of America's choices.

We have Alvin Greene doing the Blazing Saddles shuffle, with pending felony charges and no idea what he's talking about; Sarah Palin spewing matchbook policy from her Facebook page; House Reps receiving Bribes; Ways and Means former Chairman evading his taxes, and a ranking member of the energy committee apologizing to a company that killed 11 men to save money.

...and people wonder why the electorate is slow to the polls. People are sick of choosing the least crappy from a pile of garbage. I know I am.

Well no. I don't think this is Obama's fault or that this started when he entered office. I willingly acknowledge his failings, but I also place the state of country in the proper context. And I don't think government is inherently bad. Without the intervention of government I wouldn't have the right to vote, eat at certain restaurants, or drink from certain water fountains.

The Tea Party, despite the few legitimate gripes that pierce the fringy attacks on the President's place of birth, his religion, or the so-called plan for a government takeover of health care, is not a grassroots movement. It's a movement funded and driven largely by the corporations who co-opt genuine populist anger to further their own interests.

Thanks to the Tea Party, people like Sharon Angle and Rand Paul are legitimate candidates for Senate. Until the Tea Party calls people like Mitch McConnell and John Boehner on their lies - and holds them up to the same scrutiny as Obama, Nancy Pelosi and the rest - then no my friend, I'm gonna have to take a pass on the swim.

This abcnews article ( http://bit.ly/aCPvNM ) states that Alvin Greene's alleged misconduct took place on November 4th 2009. However, this wltx.com article ( http://bit.ly/djJ3uC ) and the wikipedia page on Alvin Greene states that the incident took place on November 12th 2009. Can someone please explain?

The reason I ask is because I am wondering if it is possible that this incident took place on the 4th of November 2009 and he was arrested on the 12th of November.

Man, I wish I could vote for this guy.

Much more entertaining than the corporatist soulless candidates/incumbents creeping out of the woodwork from every else.

Jesus, take the wheel. Why is this man making a further fool out of himself?

That was pretty harmless. Given the other things he's accused of. He didn't do any worse than Obama did on Ellen. Cut him a little slack?

What is so obscure about Alvin Greene's political ideology? I checked out his web site and he wants to:

Jobs -- Creating Good Paying Jobs for South Carolinians
Improving Transportation and Infrastructure
Implementing Alternative Forms of Energy

Education -- More parent involvement & better facilities

Justice -- Making sur ethe punishment fits the crime

(this is right off of his web site)

And his latest op-ed about Washington & the White House (Harvard Educated guys) not understanding what it is like to be unemployed & under financial strain is right on.

I'd say his message is quite populous by nature -- even though it may not be the most articulate. I don't know about yall ... I'd take a simple, straight forward message that's not fine-tuned by a high paying "advisor" or a lying snake-oil salesman politician.
06:58 PM on 08/31/2010
What is his plan to get even one of those things done? Alvin knows nothing about business and he's pushing for "justice" because he's a sexual predator. How in the HE-LL is he going to get "more parent involvement and better facilities" for education? South Carolina schools are extremely poor. They have no budget. This has been an issue for decades and not one politician has been able to fix it yet. This is the always the big prize, but nobody can deliver it. They keep raising our taxes and building more schools.

Lord, you again!

Really ... we already know you do not like Alvin Greene - that's totally cool.

How narrow your thought process is to assume that Alvin Greene's call for equal eking out of justice in South Carolina (which historic showings of inequality for minorities within the justice system) is only from a prism of sexual misconduct.

Ever heard of innocent until proven guilty?

Or is it a case of a black man accused of showing dirty pictures to a white woman in the South and automatically found guilty?

I'd say you make the argument for why the legal system needs to be made fairer -- don't you?

Wait ... don't bother answering - we already know how you feel about all of this.
