I hope they use vitamin D. It's much cheaper than any drug that's available.

Wonderful move. I wish more who could afford it would step up and foster illness's that do not get the vast attention and money badly.

If I won a lottery I would fund research for my disease Lupus afterall they have not changed the drugs we have to take to control it in years. Yet billions is spent on those little blue pills.

The Krishchuns will now accuse the MS clinic of accepting money from someone who "promoted witchcraft".

I only wish Ms. Rowling would have been informed enough about the true "miracles" that have been happening in the MS world with the discovery that MS is a vascular disorder - and not a neurological disease - to have directed the money to go into fast-tracking the "science" that will finally legitimize a simple procedure that's changing the lives of MS suffers around the world.

The whole world is on fire about CCSVI (chronic cerebro-spinal venous insufficiency) but you won't hear anything about in the US or an other "free market" economy where drug stocks are at risk.

MS as a vasular problem (malformed veins in neck causing blood to "backwash" into the brain) was first noted by a German researcher in the mid-1800's. Recently, an Italian vascular surgeon stumbled over the old research and with todays technology, was able to substantiate, expand it, and- with a simple angioplasty - change people's lives.

Ms. Rowling: Please, please go to youtube and plug in "CCSVI "and start watching. Neurologists and drug makers are panicking, stonewalling, while MS suffers go where they must to find doctors who see "the light" and are willing to help.

Our hope - the future -- is with interventional radiologists and vascular doctors - NOT neurologists.

Please help us get through the massive resistance to some elegant, sound science - and extraordinary results -- to get insurance companies on board, and get people the simple treatment they need to restore their lives.

That's a legacy your

It's not just for MS. It's for several other Neurological diseases. Write to her and let her know. I'm sure she has a web site for such feedback.

Either way, I find her aide towards funding advanced science as a breath of fresh air. I'm happy for her success and that she's honoring her mother's memory.

The Canadian govt and specialists have decided not to fund this area it is frustrating I think the whole thing lies in the hands of pharmaceutical compainies. Not willing to let go of profits.

What JK Rowling has done for MS is absolutely wonderful, I only wish there were many more people with this sort of money to be able to provide support to individuals as well as huge organisations. I was diagnosed PPMS June 2009, no help available for individuals we have to beg for it.
I so take my hat off to what this wonderful woman has done, it goes a long way to helping with research, I only wish there was more support on the ground and at grass roots levels.

Anne Volant Rowling certainly gave a gift to the world in raising a generous daughter, sensitive to the needs and pain of others.
