Each and every commercial is nothing but a lie and a waste of money that should have been spent on safety. I am truly shocked that BP survived this. I thought they were going down.

There's always money for PR and corporate spin, isn't there?

100 million dollars, huh? Give that to the people living in the Gulf states...

Of course they did. Why is this a surprise? Their reputation was pretty much killed and they are supposed to sit by and do nothing? People who can create convincing lies that portray BP as being just as shocked as everyone else about the spill cost a lot of $$$.

If they'd spent $100 million on safety compliance, they might not have had to blow this wad on advertising, would they?

So you're saying BP WASN'T shocked about the spill? Then they should have done something beforehand to prevent the spill.

Is anyone surprised by this. All you see day in and day out is, "Hi, I'm from Louisiana, I was born here, and BP has taken full responsibility and will be be here until....", they suck every drop of oil out of the Gulf of Mexico and beyond. Just building up their image, just like Toyota is spending a million dollars a day for your benefit.
