After trying to convince reporters that the Chicago Bears have some tricks up their sleeve, and that their 0-3 preseason record doesn't mean they will stink this year, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler went on the defense about his relationship with "The Hills" star Kristin Cavallari.

On Tuesday, gossip blogger Perez Hilton reported that Cavallari and Cutler "were all over each other" at Angels and Kings in Chicago Monday night. Hilton said a source told him they were "kissing and acting all in love."

Later Tuesday, E! Online cited another unnamed source who suspected a love connection:

"They really hit it off," the source tells E! News. "He's crazy about her and she thinks he's cute."

We hear Jay even met Kristin's mom during the post-game meet and greet--the reality star was in town visiting her fam over the weekend.

Chicago Sun-Times sports reporter Sean Jensen reluctantly decided to ask Cutler about the alleged love connection:

"I find it funny," Cutler told Jensen. "That stuff, you just have to laugh about. I had dinner with her, and that was pretty much about it."
