Sony hasn't been the same since Akio Morita retired. Their once top of the line quality is long gone.

Yeah well Sony. When are you going to supply Windows 7 drivers for your laptops that are just two years old? Or should we buy brand new ones?

If iPods can't connect to it, then it doesn't really "challenge" iTunes at all, now does it?

iTunes locks out every non-Apple device. So I actually don't see your point.

Actually, you are going off old info. PS3 is profitable, and PSP was never a money loser (although PSP still has really huge piracy issues).

But yeah, for a long time it was looking like PS3 was going to flop, and take Sony down with it. IMO, Sony gambled their entire company on using the PS3 to push people into adopting Blu-Ray. Then they had to bribe the hell out of everyone in order to not lose that bet- who knows what that cost them short term. But long term, they stand to make money on it.

And now, PS3 is actually doing rather well. I doubt I'll get one, since I already have two current gen consoles (three if you count the DS). But I'm tempted to get a PSP, if just as a portable way to watch movies.
