Ok- so I went and checked and either read or skimmed all 100.
Out of the 100 most influential "moguls" (huh?) there are 8 complete, 100% women- (bear with me)The first being Lady GaGa (WTF?) coming at #23.
There are also 6 others (sharing a position withothers) who combined make up a whopping two and a half complete women- which makes 10.5 women.

So, if my math is correct and I will not swear to it- adding all the people on the list including those who were sharing a position there are 116 "most influential" tend and a half of them who are women.
Correct me if I'm wrong but there are 105.5 men OUT of 100! who are the most influential.
WOW- they actually come out ahead.

Sorry, but I didn't do the math of "minorities" As I looked through the 100 I think there were only three black MIM (most influential moguls,) Oprah- # 34! Tyler Perry and J-Zee- don't forget that is out of 116 total.
who the hell put this together?
Amazing-

I just saw the Vanity Fair list and I just wanted to say how glad I am that this is the first post I read. That list has 115 people on it (some are more than one person a spot), and only 14 are women and only 6 are not white. In addition, six of those women had to share their spots with someone else (there was always a man sharing a spot with a woman, even if there was also another woman sharing the spot). Ridiculous.

I'll have to go check out the rest of the list- Out of these 22 there are only 2 women- (and two who are part of a group.)
not surprising but still disheartening.

All this LA stuff, stars, dated modern palaces for rent, lease, or haunting...all this LA stuff

Why not Pahrump, Cucamonga? Do you know that there is a town between Luebeck and
Timmendorf called Bob with an umlaut, Boeb (Burb) if you will. Lots of action there. Cows, cheese, fresh ham, farm house, and not one single celeb. Dare I ask: what about Boeb?
HPOST is provincial in some ways.

I thought Depp called France his home. I could absolutely be incorrect, but that is what I heard.
As others have asked, "Influential with who?" Are the #s of people that watch the tv or movie shows counted as being influenced?

he does live in France most of the time but he is still an American and involved in American industry.
Still, I'd like to know in what way he is so influential- I mean don't get me wrong- I'm all for JD- go to see his movies and lust after his gorgeousness in my own middle-aged way! LOL

But I'm not sure how he is influential- Is he working behind the scenes in some area of the industry or a non-profit or something?

OK. Overall (from what I know) I like his style and I have learned to like his acting. But my (and your) question is still, "How is he influential?"

He was able to afford to launch Hunter Thompson into space. Whereas Charles
Simonyi merely rented his brief moment.

In LA, more specifically Hollywood, it is a specific group of white people running the whole show! I guess we know who to thank for minorities being so well represented!

Influential how? With who? I don't get it. Nobody is calling Tom Hanks to square out peace in the Middle East.

I would have expected to see Steven Spielberg somewhere on the list. Or is he not considered an Angeleno?
