FYF Fest This Saturday: What To Expect

  First Posted: 9/2/10   Updated: 5/25/11

Labor Day Weekend Saturday has all Angelenos in the know converging upon Los Angeles State Historic Park in Downtown LA for the FYF Fest, an all-ages music festival complete with three sound stages, a "comedy tent," food trucks, art installations, craft booths, vintage clothing, and carnival games. We're most looking forward to bands Rapture, Panda Bear, Thee Oh Sees, and Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti (click on the bands to hear a sample song). The line-up starts at 12pm and the music goes until 12am, with The Rapture and Panda Bear closing out the festival. For an hour-by-hour guide of the best bands to see at the festival, check out the LA Times' guide to FYF Fest.

Stand up comedy goes from 2-4pm (Janeane Garofalo does the final set!), and for refreshment, the organizers promise that they've "tripled the amount of food vendors from last year" and are also setting up two beer gardens.

And if twelve hours of fun in the sun at FYF Fest isn't enough for the (unofficial) last weekend of summer, check out the pre-party on Friday night at the Grand Star in Chinatown, the after-party on Saturday night at La Cita in Downtown LA, and an after-after party on Sunday night at a secret location (to be announced via SoBe Squamata's twitter account).

Tickets for the FYF Fest are now $30, up from $20 when they first went on sale.
