Kate Moss Paparazzi VIDEO Used As Key Exhibit In California Case

First Posted: 09/02/2010 1:37 pm Updated: 05/25/2011 5:30 pm

The California state government voted 43-13 on Tuesday to pass a law fining photographers up to $5,000 or a year in jail for breaking traffic laws or impeding the operation of a celebrity's vehicle, TheStar.com reports. And one of the key exhibits in the case was a video of supermodel Kate Moss and her daughter at LAX on March 29, 2008. Check out the terrifying footage as Kate tries to leave the airport surrounded by police, paparazzi and flashbulbs.

Poor little girl. It was have been traumatic for her. It was not only paparazzi, the general public was involved too. Bravo to the cops who helped them out.

Apparantly, the paparazzi are having a slow day. Why is she this famous? And do they think their readers are interested in seeing this woman leave the airport? is this news? crazy.

She is a supermodel "bad girl." She is surely paying her dues for becoming famous, but her daughter? The behaviour of the crowd was unforgivable.

i'm not impressed. paparazzi have to work for the mags where such v.i.p. are published and their market value goes up or down. it's simply part of the business.

you don't want to be in the same situation as ms moss? don't get famous! if you are kate moss, live with it

How is it that so many other celebrities do not get this treatment. Are they more savvy as to how to avoid these situations?

These types of thrill-shock-paparazzi are actually inciting some type of a reaction from the subject they pin down. As I was watching, I couldn't help thinking they looked like swarming insects. I'm surprised the public was so well behaved- if I saw this happen I'd get in someones' face, happily.

I don't think anyone has the right to take photographs of your children without the permission of the parents. I would have went to jail had someone did that to my child.

its hard for me to feel bad for celebs, i mean their over-paid, and most of them extremely over-rated, but i don't think anybody deserves to be mobbed like that. they should absolutely put more regulations on the paparazzi not only for their sake, but can you imagine if you were in that part of lax that night, minding your own business, just trying to catch a flight? next to impossible with a mob like that. i have no respect for these photo hounds, i mean its not even that great of a shot... wow kate moss is at the airport! big deal who cares? these guys really do need to get another job, but that won't happen till we all stop reading stupid celeb mags/articles...such as this one

I saw the tape, and she was with her kids while a swarm of photographers swamped them all...that just isn't right. Sure, these people have their jobs, they need to put food on the table, but people, you need to have some sort of ethics. Don't endanger someone for a photo op. If you make a living stalking the woman, surely you'll have another chance to get a shot, in less of a situation which endangers them.

I support this measure.

I think what they did what awful, but why didn't she just check in and go into the airport.

I'd carry mace if I were her. And the paparazzi need to get real jobs. They, essentially, killed Princess Diana.

I see that several people are saying that this event was not "terrifying." I ask, if you put yourself in the situation completely surrounded by blinding lights and shouting photographers feeling completely trapped, would you not be afraid? I do get that people's definitions of what is "terrifying" differ from person to person, but you can't simply say that there is nothing scary about this incident at all.

I am very happy to hear that laws are being put in place for these paparazzi.

Do you have any idea how terrifying this is too a child? Any adult would be completely victimized by this as well. Photogs have gone too far they should do more than just fine them, there should be serious charges brought against them. I totally agree too with OBroadhurst comment of how photogs then have then nerve to call foul when a celeb finally has enough and slugs them.
