Obama Headlining Richard Blumenthal Fundraiser

Obama Blumenthal

HARTFORD, Conn. — President Barack Obama plans to attend a fundraiser later this month to help Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal's campaign for the U.S. Senate.

The Blumenthal campaign confirmed Friday that the president will appear at a Sept. 16 fundraising event in Stamford. The president also is scheduled to headline an event for the Democratic National Committee that day in Greenwich.

Blumenthal is battling Linda McMahon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, for the seat that will become open with the retirement of Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd.

The attorney general says he believes Obama's visit will energize his supporters and help him raise the resources he needs to campaign against McMahon, who spent millions of her own money to win the Republican primary and has pledged to spend millions more against Blumenthal.

In the obama just doesn't get it category, here is the following:

With the job market stuck in neutral, the Obama administration is moving toward using revenue from expiring tax cuts for the wealthy to finance $35 billion in tax cuts for small businesses and workers.

Here is a clue. A lot of those wealthy people who make above $250K are the small business owners. You are taking  Read More...

THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION "NEEDED" TO DO BETTER; NOT MORE OF THE SAME

"The tale of the Deepwater Horizon disaster is, at its core, the tale of two blowout preventers: one mechanical, one regulatory. The regulatory blowout preventer failed long before BP ever started to drill – precisely because Salazar kept in place the crooked environmental guidelines the Bush administration implemented to favor the oil industry."

"During the Bush years, the Minerals Management Service, the agency in the Interior Department charged with safeguarding the environment from the ravages of drilling, descended into rank criminality. When agency staffers weren't joining industry employees for coke parties or trips to corporate ski chalets, they were having sex with oil-company officials. But it was American taxpayers and the environment that were getting screwed."

"Employees describe being in Interior – not just MMS, but the other agencies – as the third Bush term," says Jeff Ruch, executive director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, which represents federal whistle-blowers. "They're working for the same managers who are implementing the same policies. Why would you expect a different result?"

Timothy Geithner and Lawrence Summers are bankers/wall street guys. Ken Salazar is an oil guy. David Petraeus is a George W. Bush Iraq war guy. Alan Simpson is a George H. W. Bush guy. Where are the guys and gals whose loyalties lie exclusively with the AMERICAN PEOPLE?

We Conservatives LOVE it. The controversial and unpopular obama "helping" another Lib politician. Hopefully, after some more vacation days, obama will have a lot of energy to campaign for many more Libs. The problem is that many Libs have "scheduling conflicts" for when obama comes to town. Right, Russ Feingold......

Glad conservatives are happy contemplating a return to ruinous policies both economic and international. And for the record only one President in the last five took fewer vacation days in his first 18 months than Obama. Big Hint: It wasn't George Bush.

Obama's campaign plans? What . . . two months vacation in Australia? The conservatives he coddled despise him _more_ than they did in '08. Liberals have been told to go to hell for two years of Bush re-hash. Who would vote Obama-ites? Staff at The Atlantic and The New York Times?

Hey, but he worked HARD to earn that vacation, you know, having beer summits, walking around in New Orleans, mucking it up in the gulf, throwing out baseballs like a girl.

You elected someone solely based on their charisma, do you really expect anything else?

Sorry to interrupt this happy fantasy but only one President in the last 30 years had fewer vacation days in his first 18 months in office and it certainly wasn't GWB. More tea anyone???

We need a realistic candidate to run on the Republican ticket who can beat Barack Obama – not just beat the Democrats," Herman Cain, an Atlanta radio talk-show host, former CEO of Godfather's Pizza and 2004 Senate seeker, told WND. "We've also got to beat Barack Obama."

It's amazing some of the posts here.Democrats should shun President Obama who was able to achieve what no other president in 60 years was able to achieve. While health insurance and finance reform are not perfect and despite a complete NO on everything from republicans, big corporate and lobbyists interests, blue dogs and the insipid ungrateful tea party movement, this president's achievements are incredible against these belligerent odds, notwithstanding the racist crap 24/7,from the likes of Beck.Limbaugh,Palin,De Mint,Bachmann and their ilk.

These folks really want a white president even if that white president does F all for their well being and sends their kids to die in a war of his making,an unnecessary and criminal war wherein the people being attacked had absolutely nothing to do with 911.It was beyond immoral and sinful.Yet throughout the eight years of Bush's sinful, soulless, selfish, deceitful and tortuous administration you never had one tea party convention or rally....not one...I repeat not one.

No you cannot come on this post and wrongfully criticize what president Obama has done or attempted to do for the middle class, women, gays, minorities while defending the constitution and heap praises on Boehner,McConnell,Palin who are unfit to lead and govern. They have blatantly thwarted the desire for change that the people voted for in 2008 with their deliberate obstruction aided by FOX,CNN and MSM.Bachmann goes around spewing her venom that the president is enslaving white people and she is not held accountable.

Why praise Obama for ruining the nation? Most of his policies haven't even taken effect. And when they do will you then see how dangerous he is... Saying no to something that is truly going to be essentially disastrous may not be wrong. If Obama is intent on destroying the nation then continue what you have started...

Do you even read what you post? You just stated, " MOST OF HIS POLICIES HAVEN"T EVEN TAKEN EFFECT"........So if that statement is true, as you are complaining, my question to you is " How has our President ruined the nation"?

You cannot have it both ways......

n the 2003 State of the Union Address, Mr. Bush told Congress, "Our intelligence sources tell us that he has attempted to purchase high-strength aluminum tubes suitable for nuclear weapons production."

Months before, on 9/19/2002, The Washington Post had reported that leading scientists and former weapons inspectors had determined that the tubes were not suitable for nuclear use and probably were intended for artillery rockets that Iraq was allowed to produce.

In the 2003 State of the Union Address, Mr. Bush told Congress, "Saddam Hussein had the materials to produce as much as 500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agent."

No such material has been found. Two months earlier, the CIA concluded that there was "no reliable information on whether Iraq is producing and stockpiling chemical weapons."
