The Upshot:

A 2006 Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation into the purchase of child pornography online turned up more than 250 civilian and military employees of the Defense Department -- including some with the highest available security clearance -- who used credit cards or PayPal to purchase images of children in sexual situations. But the Pentagon investigated only a handful of the cases, Defense Department records show.

The odds are very high that if an investigation was fully done of HP offices it would also reveal a few people doing the same. It would reveal a number of people in any office picked randomly in the world. That is a sad reality because like it or not even in this country there is a borderline sanctioning of child porn.

I find some of the things that are considered to be legal to be downright  Read More...

THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION "NEEDED" TO DO BETTER; NOT MORE OF THE SAME

"The tale of the Deepwater Horizon disaster is, at its core, the tale of two blowout preventers: one mechanical, one regulatory. The regulatory blowout preventer failed long before BP ever started to drill – precisely because Salazar kept in place the crooked environmental guidelines the Bush administration implemented to favor the oil industry."

"During the Bush years, the Minerals Management Service, the agency in the Interior Department charged with safeguarding the environment from the ravages of drilling, descended into rank criminality. When agency staffers weren't joining industry employees for coke parties or trips to corporate ski chalets, they were having sex with oil-company officials. But it was American taxpayers and the environment that were getting screwed."

"Employees describe being in Interior – not just MMS, but the other agencies – as the third Bush term," says Jeff Ruch, executive director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, which represents federal whistle-blowers. "They're working for the same managers who are implementing the same policies. Why would you expect a different result?"

Timothy Geithner and Lawrence Summers are bankers/wall street guys. Ken Salazar is an oil guy. David Petraeus is a George W. Bush Iraq war guy. Alan Simpson is a George H. W. Bush guy. Where are the guys and gals whose loyalties lie exclusively with the AMERICAN PEOPLE?

They think it's a legitimate way to releive the stress of planning how to best kill as many people as they can with each well deployed weapon.

I'm sure we can all agree about the child pornography side, but iIs anyone else worried that the Pentagon is run by people so stupid as to not realize that credit card transactions leave paper trails? (Though I don't doubt that there were a number of genuine case of identity theft.)

Why isn't this national news? Did anyone talk about it on the "Sunday Morning" news circuit?
Where is the outrage? Has porn become so ingrained in our society that we now accept that "child porn" used by government officials/employees on government equipment/time as the norm?

For these things to be going on it takes a lot of organization.

For example, this story:

There are people who talk about statistics and odds in an organization as large as the Pentagon. Compare how many have been prosecuted. It is then when you see the disparity. When you see no prosecutions, but so many exceptions to crimes that have been found, this by the process of elimination does directly implicate criminal conspiracy and high crimes (crimes as stated in the Constitution that make some people above the law). Then, if you look at the history they have already that shows the same kind of behavior and nobody getting punished for it, it shows that this illness of perversion that extends to military conquest is evil allowed to go in many directions and varieties. Why do we allow people to be above the law?

The Republican party has a history since Reagan of perverse behavior. It is much worse than you think.

After reading the whole story, I find it disturbing that the Pentagon had to drop some of the cases because they could not get cooperation from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. What was the point of ICE doing the investigation if they were not going to cooperate with the Agencies that needed to do the further investigations?

Why has Huffington Post suddenly buried this story? It started out as the headliner, then a few hours later it was dropped to number 15 down. Then a few hours later wasn't even on the front page.

I ask all the active duty soldiers and sailors: Which is more unsettling for you? (A) that your gay comrade is checking out your junk in the shower, or (B) that your straight comrade is checking out your kid's junk when you're not around?

The Pentagon only goes on witch hunts for gay porn.

Great article, Huff Post! Here's another article, "If It's Kiddie Porn, the Pentagon Will Enjoy It" that sheds a humorous light on the situation: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5761464/if_its_kiddie_porn_the_pentagon_will.html?cat=9

Keep up the good work!

So let’s remember kids, it’s all right if a young woman decides to upgrade her breasts and we have her head on the media platter, but it’s another hushed thing if the folks at the pentagon are secretly watching that young woman’s younger sister as she steps out of the shower in the raw. Then it’s time to keep quiet…

naked child is not kiddie porn. If that were the case, think of all those topless babies doing diaper commercials.

So much for being bent whether a soldier is gay or not and so much for looking away if that soldier’s boss is indiscriminately flicking through child porn.

It is my hope that the vulgar and despicable display by pentagon employees will bring a spotlight to pedophilia and enormous tragedy of child exploitation. Furthermore ... Perhaps this will be the beginning of the demise of pedophilic organizations such as N____A. I hope this 3rd attempt will pass the litmus of the monitors.
