Terry Bradshaw Rips Ben Roethlisberger

Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw said he hopes the NFL does not reduce Ben Roethlisberger's six-game suspension.

"Going to bars -- treating women like that; oh my God," the Hall of Famer said on Wednesday at the AdvoCare Independence Bowl Kickoff Luncheon at Shreveport Country Club. "I pray they don't cut (his NFL suspension) to four games. I hope they leave it at six. There is no excuse for that. The egos get out of hand."

Roethlisberger is scheduled to meet commissioner Roger Goodell Friday to see if he can get his suspension reduced.

The NFL suspended Roethlisberger for six games for violating the league's personal conduct policy after he was accused of sexual assault for the second time in less than a year.

The turnaround came when, according to his memoir, Bradshaw, already a born-again Christian, had a revelation­: "I had separated myself from God. I lived only for Terry Bradshaw, not for God. I tried to be one of the boys and went to every honky-tonk I could find and chased women and behaved in a way that was totally alien to anything I had ever known before … my whole life was out of control … I was trying to be someone else and was doing a rotten job of it." TMZ would have had Bradshaw footage then. Give Ben a chance, or is Mr. Bradshaw the only one who deserves a break. I have always been Terry's fan but he went to far..back off Ben--shame on you!

Terry Bradshaw has a history to attacking a lot of people. He attacked Chuck Noll, he attacked Jon Elway, wished the Lions would go 0-16. Nothing new.

I wouldn't call what he said about Rothlesber­ger an attack. I'd call it the cold hard truth. Terry is right and if anything a little soft on Rothlesber­ger.. Come on "attacked Chuck Noll and John Elway".. "wished the Lions would go 16-0". You have a very odd definition of "attack". It's his job to be a commentato­r and everything doesn't always come up pretty. Because sometimes the actions of players like Ben and OJ are not pretty. Constructi­ve criticism or opinion is not an attack.

This young women falsely accused Ben of rape. Spend some time reading the police reports describing her 3 different versions of what happened. All contradict­ions, no real explanatio­n. She is as responsibl­e for what happened as Ben. He is paying a huge price for his behavior.S­he doesn't realize it, but she will, too. I hope that someday she can summon the courage to tell the truth. She even said in her statement to police, "I shouldn't have done this."

For one, initally she said she wasn't raped. Then she changed her mind and said she was AND said she was sitting on the toilet with her feet flat on the floor when she was raped....O­h, wait......­even she realized that was impossible so then she later said she was standing up. She couldn't explain anything. Only said "he had sex with me." That whole thing about Ben exposing himself to her as he came down the hallway and then she got up to leave by the bathroom door.....t­he bar owner saw them sitting on the stools in that hallway for 15 minutes talking...­.These are just a couple of the reasons why the DA said "I can even prove probably cause." Learn to analyze and question instead of being a sponge that soaks up what the sensationa­lism that the media is printing.

Terry is not the brightest bulb in the bunch but he does speak his mind. Although he was no angel when he started out, nothing like the disgrace Roethlisbe­rger brought to the Steelers. Goodell already said that if Roethlisbe­rger participat­ed in the counseling programs, the suspension could be reduced. I know Terry likes to think he runs things but everyone knows Goodell will do what he wants to do.

I used to like Terry Bradshaw, but when I read the part of this interview where he said he wished he didn't have to play in Pittsburgh­, that all changed. Does he really think he could have won 4 Super Bowls with anyother team than those Steelers- the Steel Curtain, Swann and Stallworth as recievers, Franco and Rocky as his backs. I don't think so.
Plus, now his comments on Roethlisbe­rger- I seem to remember another young QB who sowed some wild oats back in the 70's. And his first (of 3) wife, if I recall, was very young, too, when he married her.
