Internet Evangelist Bill Keller Preaching Against Islam Near Ground Zero

Bill Keller

NEW YORK — An Internet evangelist from Florida has begun holding services near ground zero to preach against Islam as debate continues over plans for a nearby Muslim community center.

Bill Keller has gained a following through his Liveprayer.com website, and has promised to establish a "9/11 Christian Center" to counter what he referred to Sunday as "the lies of Islam."

Keller says developers have a right to build the Muslim center but the plan to locate it near the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks is "in poor taste."

He began preaching Sunday at the New York Marriott Downtown Hotel, his temporary headquarters. His center is to open by Jan. 1. Early plans for the Islamic center call for a 500-seat auditorium, prayer space and Sept. 11 memorial.

I pray that Muslim and LGBT New Yorkers gather outside his "service", and just sit quietly.  Let the Muslims read their Qu'ran, and pray at the appropriate times, and let the members of the LGBT community feel free to kiss their significant other.  No violence, no hate, just simple acts of worship and of displaying love for other human beings.

That should make this id1ot blow his mind.

What the heck is it with Florida and loony tune preachers? Florida is also the spam and scam capitol of the nation as well as housing the "Mecca" of Scientology in Clearwater.

They must have lead water pipes or something...

What's happened to the god old pastor' priest whom, always preaching about loves, humanity, charity etc? These days seems about bashing, ranting and cursing people. Maybe if he read his bible and ten commandments things will be different. Why people so obsesssed with non existed Islamic center? I do not care whether church or synagog built there, just leave the religion alone.

I guess riding the wild wave of hatred and bigotry is more exciting than love, charity, humanity.

While I would prefer no edice of religion shoul dbe built anywhere but the Constitution leads the way and allows for it, there are some questions that need answering. Those who want to build the mosque and community center have raised in the past only $18.000. Where is the money coming from for this project and from who? The Center is going to be called Cordoba Center too and while the city of Cordoba, Spain has a rich Islamic past, why not Mecca Center or some other city in the Muslim world today. Naming a mosque and communtiy center Cordoba smacks of conquest and rubs what happened on 9/11 further into those who see this mosque/center a few blocks from the WTC as inappropriate. Cordoba became a Muslim stronghold from the 8th until the 10th century and a Caliphate in the 10th on the Iberian peninsula. Naming the mosque/.center so just doesn't show good judgement.

Do some real research on Cordoba.  It was a peaceful region under it's Islamic rulers, with the minling of all faiths and higher learning (all 3 faiths together).

Evangelists

On their head no ring of gold
they wear no robe of silk
they'll save your soul
but for a toll
your pockets they will milk
They wear a mask of love
so be watchful, leary, and wise
praying from your wallets
to the devil in disguise

I'm laughing because that description fits Muhammad to a tee, although ALL of them are false prophets because religion is bulls**t

I meant Keller, but its regretful that you have such a hateful view of religion.

Apparently this guy wants to start a Jihad. Good thing few listen to him, unlike those that listened to certain Imams and Clerics that blessed a Jihad against America, leading to so many attacks against good people, including other Muslims. Extremist leaders that blame another’s religion for their own faults and those that believe they are solders first and religious people second need to be weeded out of society. We need to find those that are at the root cause of the Jihad and bring them to trial and if anything occurs from this persons incite ridden freedom of speech, the same should happen to this guy.

from bill keller's liveprayer website today:

"***We still need to make up the last $10,000 we were short last month. We need to make this shortfall up immediately, so please praying about helping me. Also, we only need 4 more people to make a one-time gift of $5,000 to cover the rest of our 2009 shortfall. We need to cover that $20,000 as quick as we can. Finally, we are thankful for a dear family that made the sacrifce of $7,000 to cover our first Sunday at the "9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero." We still need 3 more friends to sacrifce $7,000 for each of the last 3 weeks in September. Please pray about helping me as we stand for the Lord at ground zero! "

it's all about the money!

It's always been about the money.

They believe it's their destiny to rule the rest of us.

Trying to remain hopeful is tough these days. I can't imagine how a so-called Christian could profess to know the Bible and yet not get that God is about love. We all know "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Well, there must be a lot of self-loathers out there. I am amazed at the fact these people still get their religious tax deductions, yet hate has nothing to do with true religion. It has to do with power, ignorance, arrogance, intolerance and downright hatred. The difficulty is understanding the people that buy into it. No wonder our young people have so little faith in either religion or government these days.
