Fashion's Night Out Coverage 'Like Going To War' Says CBS Producer

Fashion's Night Out has demanded a lot of the media's attention, so much that CBS News producer Susan Zirinsky has quite an interesting analogy for her coverage: "It's been like going to war, because of the details to attention and because of the multiplatform," Zirinsky told the New York Daily News.

Zirinsky will be spearheading the coverage for Tuesday night's Fashion's Night Out: The Show, the largest public fashion show in New York City history. CBS.com will be live-streaming the huge runway show, which will feature big names like Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bundchen, Naomi Campbell, Lily Donaldson, Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima, Angela Lindvall, Sasha Pivovarova and Coco Rocha and 150 Anna Wintour-approved outfits.

Then there's all of the different shopping nights from Manhattan to Japan to Australia. CBS plans to air a prime-time special recapping the NYC side of things on September 14. Zirinsky said, "We kind of go past the glamour. Glamour is great and may attract an audience," but her main goal is to "really look at the real-life things that are at stake for all of the people working in the industry."

So many egos, in such a small space.

Newly crowned media moron Susan Zarinsky's air-headed comment makes it unnecessary to read the rest of the story. She pretty much quickly nailed it for the idiocy it is--but with Anna Wintour out front there's not much more to say. I like clothes. I like looking at fashion but these ppl need a pale of cold water thrown on them. When push comes to shove, they have no concept of how disposable and irrelevant they are.

Sorry, they are not disposable. We all need jobs and clothes. And no matter what you think of fashion, it is a big industry that produces jobs. So stop with the moralizing and appreciate the fact that good things are happening, All of this "pale of cold water" thinking is sinking our economy!

Oh please. Seeing the bloated egos of the fashion world is sinking the economy? You can't be serious. Susan Zirinsky is more than a bit off kilter to compare a fashion event to war, especially now. All anyone has to do is watch September Issue to see how Wintour and her large lap dog Andre Leon Talley exemplify bloated ego and sense of self importance. It's all about them. (I would not say that about ppl like Grace Coddington or many others who I would consider artists.) Clothes and jobs would go on, not missing a beat, without the likes of the Wintours and Largerfelds.
