In this video from CNN, CBC News reports on a feathered foe beleaguering a local postal worker in a Calgary, Canada neighborhood. While most may imagine an unruly dog to be a mail deliverer's worst adversary, this particular employee is being bombarded by a local Swainson's Hawk.
The attacks progressed to such an aggressive degree that the postal worker began wearing a bicycle helmet, though the hawk even managed to break that. Mail delivery for around 150 homes in the area has been suspended, as a result.
Teresa Williams, a spokesperson for Canada Post, told CBC News, "The hawk just really seemed to have a hate on for that particular letter carrier."
Wildlife officials are waiting for the hawks to head south for the winter, hopefully in a few days time.
