Japan Perfects The Art of Synchronized Walking (VIDEO)

First Posted: 9/7/10 Updated: 5/25/11

We already knew Japanese people were awesome at crazy game shows, toys, and commercials, and now we can add this to the list: synchronized walking. Only Japan could take a normal, everyday activity such as walking and turn it into a dazzling dance of sorts. Watch as Japanese men and women perform this insanely detailed marching routine, in smart-looking blazers to boot. (Via Dooby Brain)

It kinda reminds of my time in the military. I thought I would hate the marching part, but it was actually a lot of fun.

Really? This is why Asian kids excel. Practice. nothing to be ashamed of. these kids are not smarter than Westerners, just work harder. e.g., musicians.

If you want impressive, watch the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team sometime. Then read about them. Puts "synchronized walking" to shame...

There's a few on YouTube... if you live at all close to a Marine Corps base, I'd suggest finding out when they'll be performing. MUCH better live than on video... :)

Maybe you didn't notice the tongue in cheek "salary man" posing, and the crowd laughing at exactly what you think they were celebrating. Racist dork.

Dear Kikaidaboy,
You are correct in your assumption that I do not understand Japanese. I was talking about the discipline and training I went through on the Army drill team. Our performances looked a lot like this. It is a lot of hard work and many many hours of exhausting practice!!!!
Sincerely, Dork

Seriously... Add instruments, put them on a football field, and stop wasting my time. This isn't even remotely as impressive as DCA. Seen here: http://youtu.be/Ju3LWbVuy8Q

Because the two cannot exist in the same world. Nope. I would love to see you do anything even close to what they did with 30 of your friends. Maybe you didn't know that Synchronized >anything< is a big deal over there? Na, your right, they are totally unimpressive. Bring on the football field marching band stuff.
