Joe Miller's Senate Campaign 'Is About Becoming The Male Sarah Palin,' Says Democratic Rival

Democrat Scott McAdams, who's facing-off against Joe Miller for U.S. Senate in Alaska, said over the weekend that his Republican rival's campaign "is about becoming the male Sarah Palin."

Palin endorsed Miller in his successful primary campaign to unseat incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski. And, while the former Alaska Governor didn't take to the campaign trail to shake-up the contentious race that went down in her home state, she did voice her support for the Tea Party-backed hopeful on her Facebook page, as well as by recording a robo-call on his behalf.

"His campaign is about becoming the male Sarah Palin and becoming a national media celebrity," explained McAdams. "Our campaign is about asking Alaskan voters to support us in November."

And, it seems that the line of attack could prove effective in the Last Frontier. According to a survey released by Public Policy Polling last week, 62 percent of Republicans in Alaska are opposed to Palin making a bid for the White House in 2012.

Meanwhile, Miller's messaging strategy appears to be dragging Democratic Alaska Sen. Mark Begich into the mix. "Sen. McAdams would be another Begich," said the conservative contender over the weekend.

Begich has come out and declared his support for McAdams in his midterm election fight.

"One role I can play is helping raise money, and I'm not bashful about that," he explained to Talking Points Memo in an interview published Tuesday. "We have as good of a shot as any race in this country."

The Anchorage Daily News reports that the Democratic contender has signaled he intends to run on a moderate platform against Miller, who he charged with conducting a relentlessly negative political operation during the primary season.
