Kirsten Dunst Robbery

NEW YORK — A man convicted of stealing Kirsten Dunst's designer purse from a New York City hotel suite has been sentenced to four years in prison.

James Jimenez was convicted of burglary in June. He was sentenced Tuesday.

A jury had found him guilty of stealing Dunst's $2,000 designer purse. Actor Simon Pegg's cell phone and other items also were taken from the chic hotel in 2007.

The actors were staying at the hotel while filming "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People."

Prosecutors had argued that Jimenez deserved seven years behind bars.

He denied any wrongdoing.

While I agree with your meaning...I am totally ashamed of your butchered quote...the proper quote is "with liberty and justice for all"

Now I would like to ask you to point out where The United States of America is located on the map.

Tell me about it! Just read that a Brooklyn cop who struck and killed a 32-yr. old mother of two while driving drunk got 90 days:

he'll probably only do two years, but it's still insane. It's grand larceny in new york after 1000 dollars. Unfortunate that he's being nailed to the cross for this, but he did steal.

I hope Kirsten Dunst weighs in on this over-zealous sentence.

Like I've said before. There is a HUGE disconnect between treatment of everyday people, and the people who are the politicians and newsmakers. Till they have to live by our laws, there is no incentive to change. The rich people that make our laws have no reason not to give themselves huge tax breaks and make stiff penalties for laws that they don't have to follow. It's pretty sickening.

access to the law is not equal. This country loves to throw people in the slammer, too. Bad combo unless you were born into a rich family.

Dallas congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson has awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to four relatives and a top aide’s two children. The recipients were ineligible under anti-nepotism rules of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, which provided the money. And all of the awards violated a foundation requirement that scholarship winners live or study in a caucus member's district.
She said she would repay the money and all is forgiven. Did Mr. Jimenez give the purse and all belongings in the purse back to Ms. Dunst? If so, all should be forgiven.

Fine; I evolved, you didn't.

I agree with a lot of the posters here.
4 years seems like overkill.
But a lot of the "lock-'em-up-and-throw-away-the-key" readers are happy.

4 years for stealing a freakin' purse....that's called injustice.

How much time did Winona get when she was stealing stuff from Saks?

Oh wait.....she didn't get ANY time. She was just sentenced to three years probation and 480 hours of community service.

Hm.
