9/11 Fundraising: Palin, Beck Charging For Tickets To 9/11 Rally

Last year, Glenn Beck and a variety of right-wing organizations and corporate front groups exploited the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks to stage a protest of President Obama. This year, many of the same groups are planning yet another rally with the same themes as last time.

Glenn Beck will turn up any time there is an opportunity to pedal hate to those who can't get enough of it for free. Those who pay the largest ticket amount get an opportunity to meet Beck and there is a "wet section" where beer will be served. Should be a rip roaring time for the mouth breathers up north. A rock concert for the stone agers.

Neither Palin nor Beck will receive a nickel from this event. It is purely and simply a charitable benefit. Time was when that was considered admirable across the political spectrum.

This started out as a charitable event for GB and SP. Yes, you are right; "it is purely and simply a charitable benefit" for the greedy ones. I suppose the "wet section" will raise extra funds for the charity! The h8ers are the two highlighted speakers. "Purely and simply".
***You would be foaming at the mouth if any Democrats had even suggested this kind of venue!

Now they're saying that their 9/11 rally being held on 9/11 is purely a coincidence. Yes. (Just like the rally in Washington was "coincidentally" on the anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s I Have A Dream speech.)

The 4000 seat venue was nearly sold out? To who? The state holds all of what, 6000 people, so nearly all the people of alaska want to hear Dawcter Palinstein and Hateful Beck preach to them on how to hate?? And conveniently on 9-11 to avoid the large crowds at the state fair on 9-4?? Come on Palinstein, your lies are becoming worse by the minute, . . . oops, I mean second!

"9/11 Profiteering Event Promotor Says Rally Date Is Just A Coincidence

Prominent conservatives and right-wing groups are making plans to use the 9/11 anniversary this weekend to rake in some cash. Among them are Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck, who are teaming up for a rally in Anchorage, AK. The right-wing duo are charging attendees between $74 and $225 to hear them speak. The Hill reported, “There was no indication as to whom or what the proceeds will go.” And, the AP reports that promoters for the Palin/Beck rally seem to want to downplay this perceived 9/11 profiteering:

Event promoter Christopher Cox says the 9/11 date is a coincidence. Cox originally eyed Sept. 4, but didn’t want to compete with the Alaska State Fair.

Cox says Beck will be introduced by Palin, a potential 2012 White House contender who hasn’t announced her political intentions. Palin spokesman Doug McMarlin didn’t immediately return requests for comment."

If you believe that the date of rally and 9/11 was just coincidental, well you really need to have your head examined.

But Christopher Cox, the Anchorage-based promoter of the event, told the Anchorage Daily News the date is purely coincidental and was originally scheduled for a week earlier.


Still, Cox said he understands the significance of the timing.

"You know what, it's a great date for me, for America, for Alaska," he said.

It remains unclear if Beck or Palin are being compensated for their appearance.

Meanwhile, event organizers say the 4,000 seat venue is nearly sold out.


1 - they planned it for 9/4 but changed the date to 9/11 because th 4th was Alaska State Fair day? Like they didn't know what 9/11 is ? but they do know a mosque near ground zero is stabbing the heart?

2 - regardless of where they say the money goes it never was for 9/11 - if #1 is true

3 - 9/11 is a great date ? WTF is that ? like the day Kennedy was assinated or Pearl Harbor was bombed???? Great wouldn't be a great choice of great words to pick from to describe those days.

4 - two days before the event "nearly all the 4000 tickets were sold" Nearly ? hurry up somebody and buy them for free give aways at the Wasilla walmart.
