Daisy Lowe Revives Biba, Wishes She Had Her 'Wicked Way' With Jimi Hendrix (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 09/10/10 01:14 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 06:35 PM ET

Model Daisy Lowe has been enlisted to revive Biba, an iconic London fashion store from the '60s and '70s. She talked to Vogue UK about her new role, saying, "I was born in the wrong era. I would have loved to have lived then so I could see Jimi Hendrix live in concert and try and have my wicked way with him." Whoa, now. Daisy also spoke to Vogue UK about her style icons: "Angelina Jolie because she's the hottest woman on the planet, Vivienne Westwood for her eccentricity and Isabella Blow is another huge inspiration." Take a look at Daisy's new ads as the face of Biba.

I hate it when my girlfriends talk about other guitar players.

Loved Jimi Hendrix's work. Saw him in concert twice, but unfortunately he was stoned out of his gourd. He had the volume turned up so loud that there was no music, only noise. I suppose he was experimenting, but the result didn't do justice to his talent. He made it known that he was pissed off that we weren't all cavorting on the floor, instead of sitting, watching, and listening. It was a heart break when he died. I think they said the drugs contributed to his heart stopping.

I saw a girl at Westlake station yesterday who was dressed like Barbara Streisand from "What's Up Doc?" so maybe they got something here.

Biba's! I saw the New York Dolls at Biba's. That was a riot. Nobody knew what to expect, but I don't think they were prepared for the Dolls' wild, sloppy rock and roll.

I would have him post how he plays "Little Wing" and "The Wind Cries Mary" an "Castles in the Air" Everbody is hung up with the feed-back distortion and the blaring Marshall Stacks. but this man had a soul and could do incredible ballads. Murali Coryell (Larry's son) and Tuck Andress (of Tuck and Patty) have incredible versions of "Little Wing" and "Castles in the Air" where they do the chrod introductons and get into the meat of the pieces.
Hendiix spent years in the "Chitlin Circuit" where he played with the likes of the
Isley Brothers and Bobby Womack That is the side of his playing that goes totally ignored. as most guitarists couldn't play it if they lives depended on it.

Having seen Jimi Hendrix live I can testify he literally dripped sexuality on stage. I've never seen any performer who exuded the animal magnetism which he did. It is especially ironic considering his drug habits most likely rendered him impotent or close to it.

Well baby, it's the 10's and I'm a nerdy, scrawny white guy eating fig newtons and drinking mountain dew. Will that work for you? You can have your wicked way with me any time.

Ok, so not as glamorous as Hendrix, but hello?! I could probably belt out Purple Haze. Ok, no, but maybe Purple Rain. Um, again, probably not. Ok, ok, how about Purple People Eater--I know the lyrics to that. Would that work?

Please?

Daisy Lowe is super foxy, this vid might be my favorite HP link ever: http://vimeo.com/12280336

+Fig newtons and mountain dew could also be the grossest combination...ever.

I was of age when Jimi was alive. Wish I'd had my way with him, too! Oh, well...

Oh good call! Plaster Caster was classic. I always wanted that done to me, but it so difficult when someone is giggling as I stand at attention. Sigh....

Is she not best known as being a "naturally figured" model? If so, why do they take so much effort to conceal the fact?

Oh, how idyllic life would be to join a long list of groupies and girlfriends who were beaten in jealous fits of rage by Hendrix after he'd had too much to drink or smoke or whatever...or maybe she could trade places with Monika Dannemann who woke up to find him dead in the hotel room they shared.

There's no doubt he was a great and talented musician, but be careful what you wish for, Daisy. History paints with a large brush, and removes the ugly details.

You play fast and loose with facts. You have two fans; did they give you the two "faves," too?

At least I read. Nobody's life is perfect, and it's naive to think that living with (or even loving) Jimi was a bed of roses.

Kathy Etchingham said that Hendrix beat her with a phone booth receiver in a pub when he thought she was calling another man. (Through Gypsy Eyes. Orion. 1998)

Carmen Borrero required stitches after Hendrix hit her with a bottle. (Univibes #32. 1999)

And, okay...maybe Jimi died before he and Dannemann had a chance to go to bed, because the exact time of death was never given in the original inquest. Either way, it's not a pretty story. (The Final Days of Jimi Hendrix by Tony Brown, p.164)

Also, fans count for nothing more than a popularity contest.
