Most of the comments I find on HuffPost are fairly liberal...but I like everything I am reading on this article. We have a bunch of career politicians on both sides of the aisle that seem to only be serving themselves....not the people. It would be nice if we could take the money off the table and have the elected truly serve the nation...and not special interests.

I'm sorry, but NONE of these people should have jobs. Lobbying should be 100% illegal, period.

There should be zero money in politics, it should be an unpaid job all the way to the highest levels. It should be a volunteer effort and the means to become informed should be distributed as widely as possible.

Simple stuff.

Heck, I'd go so far as to say elected officials should also have a post-service earnings cap so that they can't just use the office to peddle influence for the promise of future rewards.

Here is a thought for Democratic staffers looking for employment outside of Congress. Forget K Street and go to work for a labor union, civil rights or community organization, i.e. the pre-Clinton base of the Democratic Party.
