HuffoPo: Newsflash for ya. Terrorists are "disgusting", "terrible", and "degrading". Guess what: if we have to pull out a few fingernails to get the info from the monsters that we need, then that is what we are going to do. Get over it. Nobody cares.

Some thing to ponder. Which is worse? Obama neglecting to arrest every one involved in the american economic melt down, or Bush war crimes? Each killed Justice. Each killed real people. Both show there is no justice in America.

via the NYT: If we understand that our government has sanctioned torture, Mr. Coetzee writes in "Diary of a Bad Year," “then the issue for individual Americans becomes a moral one: how, in the face of this shame to which I am subjected, do I behave? How do I save my honor?”

In America, NO ONE is above the law: When that stops being true, this stops being America.

War crimes have no statute of limitations; there are no exceptions to the law for political convenience.

War criminals must be prosecuted or we will be abandoning the Rule of Law at everyone's extreme peril, and those who refuse to prosecute are obstructing justice.

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that the Halliburton White House of Dubya and the Wrecking Crew are war criminals and torturers against all the human rights, Geneva Accords and crimes against humanity.
Why aren't these criminals brought to justice?
Because there is no "Equal Justice Under The Law" as the Roberts Supreme Court and our President Obama defines in "looking forward not back" and "turning the page" to keep the ability for the same abuses within his Goldman Sachs White House of Corporate Fascist Greed and corruption.
There is little to no change from Bush with what's going on now. America see this.

"The book paints Vice President Dick Cheney as the principle [sic - Reuters!] villain, albeit one whose motive -- trying to protect Americans from terrorism -- was right."

I think they're too kind - I don't think he has ever had any concern for Americans in general, just power. Apart from that, from what I've heard the attacks scared him out of his wits.

I assume he was scared since he's never been in combat - in fact spent considerable effort evading it. A prime example of a chickenhawk.

To get a feel for torture read Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein.

Dick Cheney was not trying to protect Americans from terrorism through torture. He was trying to get torturees to tell him what he wanted to hear, which was to support the lies he made up to get us to invade Iraq.

Dick Cheney tortured to cover his own butt.

Obama is most concerned about going down in history as America's first black president. He is less concerned about being a good president,,,, a moral one who goes after criminals. Eric Holder? A scared cat. Republicans say "boo" and he runs back under the sofa. I think a deal was struck ...Obama gets in by running against a deliberately weak candidate....in exchange for no prosecutions. He has sold out for his place in history. "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good..." People who talk like that betray themselves as moral snakes.
