Well, this is certainly not something you see every day. Four Seasons is opening up a new hotel in Denver (its second hotel in Colorado) in October, but the real celebration will happen on November 6th, when the hotel pulls out all the stops with a grand opening party.
Now, we've heard of and even been to hotel grand openings before. Earlier this spring, there was much hoopla over the new World Trade Center Hotel opening here in New York, but that's for more obvious reasons.
We thought hotels had cut back on extravagant opening parties during these leaner times. But no. The Four Seasons has invited ONE Republic (of "Apologize" fame circa 2007), who just happen to be locals, to play the event. Tickets cost a whopping $325, with (a portion of) proceeds going to four local charities.
According to the Four Seasons, the theme of the event is "Four Seasons Embraces Colorado," with an "emphasis on local entertainment, local partners and locally-sourced foods and beverages."
Here's hoping Colorado embraces them right back.
