Sarah Palin Rnc Expenses

Hotline On Call:

The RNC has sent more than $129K to an Anchorage law firm to cover legal bills incurred during former Gov. Sarah Palin's (R-AK) run for vice president, a senior party official tells Hotline On Call.

The party cut the check on Sept. 1 to Clapp, Peterson, Van Flein, Tiemessen & Thorsness LLC, an Anchorage law firm that defended Palin from myriad ethics charges following her campaign. Political opponents in Alaska filed complaints against Palin surrounding her travel during and after the campaign.

Hi Sarah! I know you're reading because the McCain campaign let it slip that you are so obsessed with your press that rather than reading anything that might make you even sound credible by parroting smart thoughts -  you instead sat hunched over a Diet Dr. Pepper obsessing over lamestream media and those gotcha internet people. Tom Emmer makes it a race in Minnesota
*
Palin-endorsed Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer has come from 9 points down last month to lead his Democrat opponent Mark Dayton by a point in a new poll by Rasmussen Reports:
Republican Tom Emmer and Democrat Mark Dayton are virtually tied now in the race to be Minnesota’s next governor.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Minnesota Voters shows Emmer earning 42% support to Dayton’s 41% when leaners are included. Independence Party candidate Tom Horner is a distant third with nine percent (9%) of the vote. Six percent (6%) like some other candidate in the race, and two percent (2%) are undecided.

The findings move the race to a Toss-Up from Leans Democratic in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard.

[...]

Last month, with leaners absent from the totals, Dayton held a 45% to 36% lead over Emmer just after both candidates had won four-way primary races. Horner, who defeated four other hopefuls to win the nomination of the party that sent Jesse Ventura to the governor’s mansion, earned 10% support at the time.
The Republican Governors Association (RGA) should see a significant increase in its membership next year. Minnesotan Ed Morrissey comments on the race at Hot Air.

20 House Democrats from districts we carried in 2008 voted for the health care bill
It’s been six months since President Obama signed his health care bill into law. Despite overwhelming public dislike of Obamacare, we were told that Washington knows best and there was nothing to worry about. Nancy Pelosi said Congress had to pass the bill so that Americans could “find out what is in it.” We found out that it’s even worse than we feared.

Join me in standing against those who stood with Obama and Pelosi in voting for this disastrous bill. The Democrats from 20 districts we carried in 2008 voted for Obamacare. Now we can vote against them.

Let’s replace them with good conservatives who will vote to repeal and replace Obamacare with patient-centered, results-driven, free market reform that provides solutions to people of all income levels without bankrupting our country.

Let’s reclaim the power of the people from those who disregarded the will of the people.

Don't get demoralized, get organized. It's time to take a stand.

Newsmax kicks off webcast series with Sarah Palin interview
*
In an email from editor Christopher Ruddy, Newsmax announced that on October 12 it will begin a special pre-election online webcast series which will continue through the day of the midterm elections on November 2.

The premiere webcast event for the webcast series, “Make America Great Again,” will feature an exclusive interview with Gov. Sarah Palin. Ruddy reminds his email recipients that “Make America Great” was the slogan fore Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential campaign. It should be no coincidence, then, that President Reagan’s son Michael will be the series' host. Ruddy promises that in addition to Gov. Palin, other opinion leaders, including Dick Morris, will be featured.

The registration page for the webcast is here:

Gov. Palin returns to Alabama October 7
*
As we reported back in February and again in April, Sarah Palin will deliver the keynote address at Faulkner University's 2010 Annual Benefit Dinner at the Renaissance Hotel and Spa and Convention Center in Montgomery, AL.

The event is set for Oct. 7 at 7 PM local time. Proceeds from the benefit will into a fund for student scholarships. For ticket information, call (334) 386-7257.

The Birmingham News story contains a small error. The visit will actually be Gov. Palin's third to Alabama (not her second, as reported)and her first to Montgomery. She has traveled to Birmingham twice -- a November, 2009 book tour stop, and a fundraiser for Rainbow Omega in May.

She has really made herself at home among the haves. I wonder how many middle-class donors paid for a bill she can easily afford to pay herself? How many unemployed?
06:33 PM on 09/22/2010
RNC should pay the bill. The majority Republican Alaska Legislative Council filed the first ethics complaint on Troopergate, which found wrongdoing. All costs would have been paid 100% by the state, including Van Flein's legal bills, had the McCain campaign left it alone.

Instead, they hired Ed O'Callaghan from his more important duties as US Atty Terrorism Specialist to 'retool' Troopergate and mastermind the second ethics complaint with the more compliant Personnel Board, which found no wrong doing. The state paid none of the costs, hence Van Flein's enormous legal fee.

Had nothing to do with Democrats, save one regrettable comment regarding an "October surprise." Even then, the majority Republican ALC gave a vote of confidence to the way the first ethics complaint was being handled.

Alaska stood back and allowed the RNC to hijack their own governmental process. Yes, they should pay and all of those dolts who donated to the Alaska Trust Fund without educating themselves as to the facts deserve getting fleeced.

Bull pucky. that is MY money they are using to pay off this grifter. what is her 'legal defense' fund used for that so many of her knee kissers donated their last dollar to? this woman is a millionaire. and she's scamming the system. she should be in jail along with her newest creation, O'donnell.

Palin's Alaska Trust Fund (set up among other things to pay her legal bills to fight ethic complaints) was ordered to return donations made to the fund during Palin's short tenure as governor. I heard the people who had donations refunded were immediately asked to donate it back to Palin so she can pay her legal fees. Haven't heard of any financial report being released regarding this fund, which includes a clause that any Palin family member can draw from this fund as well. It is well known that Van Flein has represented Bristol Palin . . . . and Bristol's legal bills probably paid for by the Sarah Palin devotees. What a pack of grifters . . . . the gift that keeps on taking.
