The sun's center will shift tonight to coincide precisely with the equator of the Earth, creating the annual September Equinox, also known as the Autumnal Equinox. At 3:09 a.m. Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) -- which will be 11:09 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) -- the Autumnal Equinox will occur, resulting in the famed 12-hour night and day.
The equinox also reaffirms the arrival of fall and with it the beautiful color changes of foliage. So, what better way to celebrate than with a list of books with stunning photographs of leaves?
