Ken Buck Leads Michael Bennet 49-45 In CNN/Time Poll

A new poll from CNN and Time shows Republican Ken Buck beating incumbent Democrat Michael Bennet by 5 points, 49%-44%.

The poll, which was conducted September 17-21, shows Buck beating Bennet 50%-36% among voters not affiliated with either party, 56%-36% among men and--importantly--50%-44% in the Denver suburbs.

Bennet defeats Buck among self-described moderates 59%-33%. He also has a 52%-41% advantage among women.

These are similar results to those gathered by other polling services.

The CNN/Time study continues to show Democrat John Hickenlooper with a commanding lead over his opponents, American Constitution Party candidate Tom Tancredo and Republican Dan Maes. Hickenlooper picked up 47% support in the poll, compared with 29% for Tancredo and 21% for Maes.

The survey reports a 3.5% margin for error.
