Last month British Air lost all 4 of our bags between Phoenix, Heathrow and Barcelona. 5 days and lie after lie later they caught up with our cruise. Nothing like wearing the same clothes for 5 days on Holland America Med cruise of a lifetime. Holland America did nothing to help although they booked the flight

A higher double-standard.

Anything valued that high should have been insured and shipped by private carrier to arrive at his hotel prior to his visit. His secretary should be fired.

Why is a rich guy flying the worst airline in the world?
10:14 AM on 09/24/2010
Quite unfortunate for Mr. Gucci... however perhaps it could spell change for consumer protection in the airline industry. Make them 100% responsible for the full replacement costs and I guarantee you they never lose another bag.

Sticky fingered baggage handlers. Been there.
If I had Gucci's $$$$, there is no way I would travel on a commercial airline. Where was his private jet?

I know we are in a recession but why on Earth would he be flying USAirways in the first place? They are a horrible airline!

Giving your luggage to an airline is like gambling - never pack anything you can't afford to lose.

I have been lucky and never lost any luggage. Did get a bag opened once with a note on top that said it had been opened and inspected. I guess my white shirt didn't pass inspection, or perhaps it did and fit the inspector.

Once had my luggage vacation in South Africa when I was in Moscow. And once my luggage arrived 3 days late.

How sad. All that history, lost.

The bags weren't "lost".

Exactly, airline employees and postal employees probably steal more than every thief in prison in the country. I " lost " my bag with my 1200 dollar camera in it and they found the camera in a pawn shop 3 miles from the airport and arrested a baggage handler.
