Meghan McCain Cancels College Speaking Engagement Due To 'Professional Responsibilities,' Goes To Vegas Instead

Meghan McCain, scheduled to speak at Juniata College in Pennsylvania today, canceled the engagement earlier this week due to "several unforeseen professional responsibilities."

According to McCain's Twitter feed, those unforeseen professional responsibilities include a trip to Las Vegas, Don Troop at the Chronicle of Higher Education reports.

"First real time off in months - was gonna rest up for phase two next week of my Dirty Sexy Politics book tour," McCain tweeted yesterday. "But headed to sin city with my favorite crew of sinners instead...Viva Las Vegas baby."

McCain went on to complain over Twitter about the unaccommodating staff of the MGM Grand, who allegedly butchered her reservation.

The blogette may reschedule with Juniata "if the college and McCain can find an open date," according to the school's website.

Gambling in Las Vegas is only a professional responsibility if you work for the casino. Way to lie, Meghan McCain, just like you lied about Sarah Palin, originally lying and saying you liked her but nowadays telling the truth about how she's a crazy lady and not qualified for anything. It seems Miss McCain is only out to promote the book she wrote and make money off it, following the example of Sarah Palin and other money-hungry frauds. Meghan McCain may seem moderate with her endorsement of gay rights, putting her at odds with other Republicans, but if she were being sincere about things she would have left the Republican Party long ago as her publicly stated positions are diametrically opposite Republican ones. I have had a bit too much of her self-promoting "ooh look at me I'm a Republican but not a crazy-right-winger like the rest of them" shtick. If she is such a Republican why doesn't she run for office and see if any fellow Republicans are willing to vote for her? She is just playing the same game her father used to play, pretending to be the only sane person in the Republican Party in order to get good publicity and make money. We saw this already with her dad John McCain back when he pretended to be a moderate and a rational person. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The title of her book is shameless use of sex appeal.

What was it her and 5 other people at the college thing? I doubt that anyone is exactly crying in their soup over her skipping the lecture. Her words of wisdom would have been the highlight of no ones university experience.

Wow...I guess this is why Ms. McCain gets paid the big money to put her thoughts between covers: because there are commercial and even "academic" outlets waiting to lap this crap up...
