But Molly Kelly-Yahner, a junior at the University of Vermont, got a semester's worth of drama in just a few brief minutes. She had already slept on mud floors in Honduras and witnessed homelessness in Johannesburg, all on short group trips in high school. But this voyage was a lengthy immersion program run by Middlebury College. She would be alone in Chile, absorbing the culture without the security of a group.
