LOS ANGELES -- Southern California is sizzling as an early Autumn heat wave sends temperatures soaring across the region.
The hot and dry conditions, which have firefighters on alert, are expected to intensify over the weekend and peak early next week.
The warm-up began Friday with inland temperatures climbing well into the 90s. Temperatures are expected to continue trending upward during the weekend with the warmest inland highs reaching over 100 degrees. Temperatures will likely peak on Monday when the offshore flow will be the strongest.
