Pledge To America

Politics Daily:

Even the "Contract with America" had limited vote-getting potency. Despite the way that shaky historical memory has created after-the-fact causation between the Contract and the 1994 GOP House takeover, the evidence suggests that the document was an after-thought for voters. A national poll conducted in late October found that only 29 percent of registered voters had even heard of the "Contract with America."

No, it's not going to energize anybody. Just get out there , people, and vote a straight Democratic ticket. It's our only option. I don't want to see the Bush/Cheney years back for another run, and that's what we'll get with these mean, greedy Republicans back in control.

Well, I remember the Contract w/ America, and it was a joke, a huge disappointment that THAT was the only thing the rethugs came up w/ (complements of Newtie Gingrich) for the whole term. The rethugs were down right giddy. They had both the white house and the majority for the first time in a good many years. And they did absolutely squat w/ their power... they had it and they sat on it gloating. Sort of like Nero fiddling while Rome was burning. And they totally ignored "we the people".
The pledge to America provides little substance... again, it is a smoke screen to make it look as if the rethugs were "listening to the people speak". All show, and not much truth to it. They don't know the meeting of truth.

They need a 2010 version of Newt to deliver the message. The don't have anyone. Boner (the Dean Martin of politics) Isn't it.

So who's stpd enough to believe these cons when they've already broken every contract and pledge they've ever made, and are even currently railing against that ultimate American pledge - the Constitution?

As a proud tea partier, the answer is no.

We dislike the repubs almost as badly as we dislike the dims. Almost. The GOP pledge wont get my vote. It wont send me over to the otherside either.

Vote both parties out!

It's funny how the document looks like it takes style cues from Obama's campaign stuff. I guess we couldn't even count on Republicans to be original in that category, either.
