Carey Mulligan's Youthful Glam (PHOTOS, POLL)

First Posted: 09/25/2010 8:27 am   Updated: 05/25/2011 5:45 pm

Carey Mulligan soared to fame (and an Oscar nomination) for her performance in "An Education." Now, the 25-year-old actress is a red carpet regular with a style that delicately combines old-Hollywood glamor with an insouciant youthful aesthetic. From fabulous, full-length gowns to classic suits, Mulligan knows how to make a look her own. We pretty much just want to shop her closet, but don't take our word for it--have a look at the photos and tell us what you think!

For the love of God, please go back to your natural hair color. The world has enough bottle blondes.

She's got great style. Anyone know who designed the first dress? I love it!

She's adorable, I can't believe what a difference the blonde hair makes on her! I love it! And she dresses lovely!

Gosh, what a difference the right cut & colour can make. I think she looks adorable in them all, but her latest look really works for her. Love the make-up palette too.

I find this young lady to be incredibly adorable. She is cute and has that very chic hair cut and I have never ever seen her look bad on the red carpet.

Maybe she has an Audrey Hepburn appeal to me. I wish her a very successful acting career.

I think she's trying to channel Audrey Hepburn, and although many of the clothes are pretty, she looks like a 10 year old playing dress up.

Such a cute girl, but she looks so scared and waif-like.  Is it because she's unused to the spotlight?  Is she on a severe diet and about to pass out?  IDK, but there's some niggling, unsettling thing I just can't put my finger on.  Many cute fashions there.

I've not seen any of her movies and I know nothing about her, but I love the photographs. It's not oftne you see someone consistently well turned out and (here I'm admittedly doing a Joe Biden) femininely clean cut. She's a breath of fresh air.

I'm unaware of her full film history, but she is well worth seeing in An Education. When not appearing in film she is in theater productions.

Very classic. She has certainly developed a style for herself. The outfit at the British Academy Awards, though -- what a miss!

Nobody (except her publicist) cares who Carrie Mulligan is and what color the carpet is upon which she walks.

I care. She's a wonderful actress. I've seen her in Blink, An Education, Brothers and Never Let Me Go. The only reason I plan to see the Wall Street sequel is because of her.

I don't go to movies, and I don't have cable; so I have no idea whether she can act or not -- never heard of her before. I love fashion -- beauty, style and design. I assume you do to a degree; otherwise, you wouldn't be in this section.

Loved the movie "Wall Street," so when I can stream the sequel on my computer, I'll definitely watch it. Then I'll have an idea whether she can act. Meanwhile, her look is great.

I'm a movie fiend (206 movies in the theater so far this year and I'm sure I'll crack 300 by December 31) but I hadn't noticed her before An Education. I saw Pride and Prejudice when it was released but I don't remember her in it. She was so terrific in An Education, her Oscar nomination was well-deserved. I haven't seen the Wall Street sequel yet, it might have to wait a couple of weeks, but I've heard her part isn't that big, so don't judge her on that.

Netflix or stream An Education though. Even if the movie itself doesn't interest you, she's compelling, and the clothes and music are fantastic. If you admire 60's fashion, you will adore the movie, just to look at. Find and watch the trailer to get an idea.
