Anti-War Protester Taken Down After Confronting John McCain (VIDEO)

John Mccain Protester Tackled

An anti-war protester demonstrating against Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) may have gotten a little too close to the lawmaker when a member of his security detail appeared to tackle her.

"John McCain has to go," the woman yelled as she attempted to get in front of McCain while he was leaving a debate also attended by Democratic Senate candidate Rodney Glassman, as well as their opponents from the Libertarian and Green parties.

Moments later, a security guard appeared to steer the woman away, but as she was led over a curb, she went down back-first into the asphalt of the parking lot.

Apparently unfazed, the woman later rose and began to chant again.

"This is how peace activists get treated, and the war monger John McCain gets to walk out," the woman said after standing up.

According to a tweet from KTVK reporter Carey Pena, as well as a subsequent report, report, another protester was allegedly "hit" by McCain's driver.

NECN/KTVK reports that the protesters were "peace activists upset about McCain's stance regarding the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan."

When did McCain rate a security detail? Isn't he like 900th in line for the preidency?

And if it's his personal detail, why?

IF it was just a rent a cop...well seems like he got carried away a bit if indeed he actually tackled the woman and knocked her to the ground.

I watched the debate and found both McCain and the Democratic candidate wholly unconvincing. The Green Party and Libertarian candidate's seemed to make the most sense, but I prefer the Libertarian approach to restoring our economy; cut government spending dramatically, starting with ending our subsidization of the defense of the rest of the world. Let the Germans, Koreans and Japanese pay their own way. He courageously addressed a couple third rails of politics - reforming Medicare and Social Security and the Drug War - presenting plans to wind all of these programs down. Lastly, I loved how the Libertarian called out McCain on Senate bill 3081, which would legalize the US government's indefinite detention of US citizens.

mccain showed his true colors by letting his officers push a middle-aged woman down. he didn't say stop, offer to help her up, apologize, pull his people back. he smiled and walked away. what a disgrace to the entire nation, let alone arizona.

Not entirely unlike kicking his wife, who campaigned tirelessly to keep POWs in the forefront during his stay in a prison camp, to the curb when she became less than the beauty he had married.

McCain is a class A @ssh@t.

Don't forget he sang like a canary when asked where the US Navy had deployed in the Gulf of Tonkin in return for favorable treatment while in captivity.

What is it about McCain that makes people want to beat him to a pulp.

I often feel this emotion coming over me myself, such as when he defends the military in the face of hundreds of documented cases in which the Military did, in fact, "ask", as well as blackmail, witchhunt, bribe, track down, conspire with whistle-blowers, etc. etc. etc.

The feeling comes over us because JMc has become such a big FLIP FLOPPER who is only interested in staying in the Senate, not doing anything, lately.

I don't want to beat him to a pulp, I just to never hear from or about him again as long as I live. I want to read he is residing in Sun City and yells at kids to get off the lawn when they come to visit their grandparents.

This is so sad, The teabaggers are allowed to yell, cause scenes, use racial epithets, and threats, but when anti war protesters(like myself) protested against Bush In ohio during his last pres campaign, we were told to stand at least 2 blocks away from him or be arrested(some were arrested) When the teabaggers protest, its because they are good responsible americans asking for change. When we protest against war, its because we are dope smoking liberal terrorists, who deserve a good beat down.

The teabaggers could get closer, because they carry beefier guns then most cops do.

This isn't new. During the Republican Convention before the last election Amy Goodman and her news crew were handcuffed, pushed to the ground an dragged. They all had legitimate press credentials, but the Rent-a-cops took them down confiscating their press passes.

It's a free country, unless you cross a Republican politician.

Typical, when Teabaggers spit on black congressmen, nothing is done, when a woman protests McCain, she is assaulted. Such brave men these Republicans.

I wonder if we will all be seeing more confrontations that directly question peoples' right to free speech. Fox can say crap using freedom of speech protection but protest Grumpy...hell no!
