New Jack Conway Ad Targets Rand Paul's Medicare 'Solution' Of $2,000 Deductible (VIDEO)

(AP) - Democratic Senate candidate Jack Conway has a new television ad that shows his Republican opponent saying that "the real answer to Medicare" would be a $2,000 deductible.

It's the latest attack from Conway, who has used his fall campaign ads to portray Republican Rand Paul as out-of-touch with Kentuckians on pocketbook and crime issues.

Conway's newest 30-second commercial shows several seniors condemning the idea of a $2,000 deductible for Medicare coverage. One senior says Paul is "off the wall" with the suggestion, and another wonders "what planet he's from."

Conway's campaign said Paul raised the idea of a $2,000 Medicare deductible in June 2009.

Paul campaign manager Jesse Benton said that if elected, Paul will work to preserve Medicare for future generations.

The ad debuted Tuesday, and Conway campaign spokesman John Collins said it's running statewide.
