Back in August, we wrote about Joncarlo Patton, a 16-year old on vacation with his mother in the resort town of Osian in India.
Patton fled the resort at which he killed his mother, Cindy Iannarelli, of Cecil, Pennsylvania by slitting her throat. He was nabbed by police when he tried to board a plane in Jodphur. He told the police at the time that he was traumatized by his parents' divorce.
Now comes news that Patton has been officially charged in his mother's death, according to the Associated Press.
His lawyer, Manish Vyas, said the court is deciding whether to charge Patton as an adult or juvenile (juvenile charges are much more lenient than adult in India).
