Suave's Body Wash Ad: Photoshopped Or Not? (PHOTOS, POLL)

From Jezebel comes what appears to be a new Photoshop mishap in the form of an ad for Suave's Mango Mandarin body wash. The model's leg appears to keep going and going without ever attaching to her hip.

...at least it's funny. How can someone not notice part of her leg is missing? -I'd think dozens of people would have had to sign off on a final ad before it's published? -Way more than an editorial photo?

Any ad you see that focuses on a man or woman is Photoshopped. Period. Don't try and argue.

Of course it's Photoshopped! Not an ad exists in this day and age that is NOT Photoshopped. Her skin was cleaned up, the color and contrast was adjusted, the fruit was brightened up and highlights added... but this is just common everyday practice.

However, the photo was also altered in various ways. The line of her hip was flattened, her whole leg was moved in some odd way, I suspect her breast was de-emphasized, several pieces of fruit and foliage (if not all of it) were added, which can easily be seen from the lighting which does not match: The orange peel on her right shoulder does not have a proper shadow, for instance, and the sprig of whatever on her left wrist has highlights where none could exist if it were not added later.

Overall, it's a pretty awkward pose and poorly designed ad. And yes, it was obviously Photoshopped.

I do love the expression on her face; I feel like I'm enjoying the smell of the product by proxy!
So, in that aspect I believe the ad is achieving its objective.

HOWEVER, whether or not the image is photoshopped, badly cropped or just taken from an unfortunate angle, it is very awkward.
So, even if this image has not been altered, it is a poor choice as it distracts from the overall effect.
I find myself tilting my head to the left, squinting, trying to aid the visualisation synapses in my brain in their endeavours, because that just looks impossible!

...or I'm just not as committed to my yoga as I should be! :)

I think that people's eyes are playing tricks on them. Because her head is in an awkward position (i.e. not full view) most would read her head as being smaller than it is. Also, one would assume that she is sitting down, which would affect the actual angles & curves of her body; the cropping creates the impression that her thigh is going on forever, when in reality there would likely be a more abrupt change due to contact with the flat surface on what she is sitting. So... not Photoshopped.

That's what I thought at first, but I couldn't be sure. Her leg just seemed to be too flat against her chest to be sitting. But maybe it is just a bad crop job.

Look at the light on the top of her knee: The highlight is to the right, but so is the shadow behind it. Her leg was obviously dropped in. Also, look at the distance from her suprasternal notch to her shoulder: Based on the size of her head, that distance should be much larger. This was likely done to de-emphasize her breast, which is all but entirely removed leaving her looking rather like she's has a bad mastectomy. Almost certainly because someone decided that the actual line of her hip and thigh, along with the existence of her breast were offensive in some way, so they altered her body to make her less human-shaped.

This really is an awful Photoshop job.

What the H _ _ _ ???? What did they do to the sistah??? At first I thought those were her boobies but dang nab it .... that's someone's leg all up on her. OKAY I'm going to have to pray for forgiveness but this doesn't look right.
