Arianna Discusses 'Third World America' At Paley Center (VIDEO)

Arianna will be discussing the disappearance of the middle class and her latest book, Third World America, tonight at a closed-door event at The Paley Center For Media in New York City. In addition to some of the startling points she makes in her book, Arianna will discuss specific steps the government and individuals can take to prevent America from descending into a third world country.

If data represent facts (which some of us willfully disregard) then her book title is spot on. We are so far behind other nations (even 3rd world) on a multitude of measurements its laughable.

nice read and diatribe, arianna. but you are 100% wrong in your thinking. the woes of the middle class were brought on by individuals reaching for the brass ring held by the joneses and not by business or the government.

wake up and re-write this to put the blame where it rightfully belongs.

Let me guess she will give another rant against the Tea Party as everyone on her Huffpost does. I have yet do FIND ONE story, blog, or post by the people who write for this site saying anything nice or polite to the Tea Party.

I don't get this series. We're no where near a third world country - and it's a wee insulting to those real third world countries.

We throw away more food then some countries produce in a year. We have ample water and irrigation. Heck we have a whole air conditioned city in a desert where we go and throw money into machines and watch shows and eat food and go to conventions.

We're doing pretty good.

Now worrying about the economy I understand that.

If you live in a Neighborhood that is controlled by an HOA: You are at risk for having your home "taken" from you by YOUR HOA? It happens everyday! Why? Texas Republican Senator John J. Carona and the Lobbyists - CAI (Community Associations Institute) - have created HOA Laws & Covenants that STRIP Americans of their Constitutional; Civil & Legal Rights!!! They have REMOVED the Right of the Homeowner to have DUE Process! They did this via State Legislators! (BTW: They can "take" your home from you - for "very petty" reasons.)
