Joseph Pedevill, U.S. Open Fighter, Arrested

Joseph Pedevill

Back Porch FanHouse:

Joseph Pedevill, 27, has apparently let his temper again get him in trouble with authorities. Except this time, it's not the U.S. Open security detail (who, gauging by how long it took them to respond to the incident in the video above, weren't in much of a hurry to keep things from escalating). It's the police.

This guy needs serious mental help.
He is just a dirtbag.

I still don't understand why this guy was banned from the U.S. Open for two years. He was the one attacked.

That doesn't mean he didn't do anything wrong.

That's the second weak fanhouse story in as many days. At the US Open, it appeared that the physical involvement was not his doing. I saw him not respond to a number of strikes from the woman. The other two are the one's who escalated it from words.

Yes, the young man was only yelling compliments to the two other people and letting them know that he respected them and their right to privacy. Glad the old guy landed the only punch.

I'm sure he wasn't yelling compliments, but he was not raising his hands to them except to fend of their attacks. Did you see the longer video of the altercation? It didn't look like he was the actively aggressive one.

Too bad. How many fights will he be involved with in the slammer?
All of this because of that Lady (I use that term very loosely) put her hands on him. Words are one thing, she should have kept her hands to herself. Her parents should have taught her that. Oh, wait, her father was fighting too.

If you bother to actually read the whole story he had problems with this neighbor before the US open fight.

I wasn't really speaking about the neighbor. If he had not had an incident at the U.S. Open, their neighborly feud would not be something that we would even know about, unless it was newsworthy, caught on tape, etc. So while you took the time to tell me to read the entire story, you should "bother" to pay attention to what I commented on. Thank you.

Their long-running feud -- which dates to May 2009, when Scheider took out a restraining order alleging Pedevill vandalized his car -

Anger management is a good thing! I've been to AM and I'm proud to say I'm 1 day sober -- because each time I get in my car and drive I suffer a relaspe.

Pedevill? With a name like that in school, you're either gonna get beat up a lot, or become a fighter.

Pedevill, the old man, and his daughter are all jerks, and they probably ruined part of the evening of their neighboring spectators who had the misfortune of sitting near them. The authorities should get lip reader experts to read what was said on the videos of the incident during the criminal and/or ...wait for it... the personal injury lawsuits that these jerks will file.
01:47 PM on 09/30/2010
I don't even know how they will claim personal injury, was the guy supposed to stand there and let the older fellow attack him? He grabbed the mans head! No one stands and just allows themselves to be attacked, pushing him off was going to lead to falling over those chairs, that was inevitable...Didn't the older fellow know the possiblity of falling over considering where he was standing?
09:54 PM on 10/01/2010
Yeah, the polite young man didn't provoke anything. He was just minding his own business.

Joseph Pedevillo?

For some reason I believe Pedevill is telling the truth about his neighbor. I used to have a jack@$$ neighbor that was always in other peoples business. Not fun.

He may be loud, rude and obnoxious, who knows, but at the US Open it appears the other two got physical first. Do people realize that rewiting history becomes difficult when there is video out there?

During the US open thing, he was at his seat the other two came over to him and the old man started the physical altercation, he's going to get all the sympathy because he was old and got the worst of it but he did start that and his daughter punched the guy who didn't touch her at all.

True, the old man deserved it, considering he drew first blood. What guy wouldn't defend himself in that situation? Next time it may not be an old man though..
