Two flights now have made emergency landings this week.

First came news that a Delta connection flight made a stunning landing on Saturday night at JFK (watch the terrifying video from inside the plane here).

On Tuesday night, a SkyWest flight made an emergency landing in Milwaukee due to a landing gear problem, according to the Associated Press.

The flight, en route from Omaha, Nebraska, reported a landing gear malfunction to the tower about 10 minutes before landing.

Luckily, none of the 36 passengers and 3 crew were hurt, despite the fact that only two of the three sets of landing gear would lower.

What ? no passenger recording the emergency landing ? As long as the airlines try to cut corners on maintenance to save money (esp. outsourcing mechanical work)-- there will always be incidents like this. Aviation is an industry requiring a lot of money--salaries, fuel, maintenance, parts, etc. -- as the joke goes:

"How do you make a small fortune in aviation?" Start with a big one. -- OR

"There's a lot of money in aviation, I know-- I put it there!"
