The New York Times is reporting that Oscar De La Renta purchased a $2.4 million condo in the SoHo Mews on Thursday. The apartment is intended for his son, Moises De La Renta, and for visiting friends of the designer.

According to the listing, the 1,400 square foot condo has two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a large living/dining space with 10'2 foot floor-to ceiling windows.

The condo, designed by Gwathmey Siegal and Associates, was originally listed for $2.7 million in 2007, the Times notes.

$2.7M gets you that?!?! It seems so bland. The SoHo neighborhood is lovely though.

What's with the front door opening into the dining area? You'd think for $2.7M you'd at least get a foyer.

Nice but I think at that price the dining room chairs could be a little more substantial. They look like army surplus.
