Can Desiree Rogers Take Over The Magazine World?

If all this was too brash for Washington's schadenfreude set, then Ms. Rogers seems to have found a more suitable role. Since August, she has been chief executive of the Johnson Publishing Company, owner of Ebony and Jet magazines and Fashion Fair Cosmetics. At Johnson Publishing, a company run by her close friend Linda Johnson Rice and founded by Ms. Rice's father, no one is telling Ms. Rogers to hang up the couture, stay out of the press and ease up on the branding talk.
