Dharun Ravi, Molly Wei May Not Be Charged With Hate Crime In Tyler Clementi Case

New Jersey prosecutors say they may not be able to bring hate crime charges against two Rutgers University students linked to the suicide of classmate Tyler Clementi.

Although Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan said no final decision has been made, existing laws could prevent him from increasing the charges on Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei.

"Sometimes the laws don't always adequately address the situation," Kaplan told the Newark Star-Ledger on Monday. "That may come to pass here."
