Jason Wu On Being Recognized: 'Who Am I, Victoria Beckham?'

First Posted: 10/05/2010 8:17 am Updated: 05/25/2011 5:55 pm

If it wasn't already clear, Michelle Obama favorite and HuffPost Game Changer Jason Wu has achieved international success. The designer chatted with WWD while en route to the airport on Monday -- he's going home to Taiwan for his brother's wedding and, yes, Wu designed the bride's and bridesmaids' dresses. He told the fashion newspaper, "It's been crazy. I was told I would have to prepare at the airport and get private security because there were going to be people following me. I'm not used to that. Who am I, Victoria Beckham?"

According to WWD, on Wu's schedule for his visit is a radio interview with President Ma Ying-jeou, consulting on a condominium complex in Taipei and traveling to Beijing to fete his new eyeshadow collection with Shiseido.

For more on Wu (not like we're obsessed), check out his Spring 2011 collection or what was in his old studio or what is in his new office.

The young man has exquisite taste--feminine, sultry, seductive, whilst simultaneously empowering and NEVER sl. utty. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I see something of a young Yves Saint Laurent in this one. What else is there to say?

Glad to see the "little guys" getting well deserved exposure. The First Lady has her choice of any designer, so it is especially nice that she continues to choose under the radar, yet talented people. I hope Jason's star continues to rise. Very talented.

His clothes' lines and designs have turbo-charged my workouts. I want one. And if I win the Lottery, a closetfull! They remind me of his bright and joyous smile.
