Margaret Cho Cries As She's Cut From 'Dancing'

Dancing With The Stars Crying

LOS ANGELES — Funny lady Margaret Cho wasn't laughing when she learned Tuesday that she'd done her last dance on "Dancing With the Stars."

The 41-year-old comedian cried after being eliminated from the hit ABC show, but vowed to continue dancing.

"I thought the judges were really hard on me, but I think you were hard on me because you could see that I am a dancer for real," she said. "And I thank you for that. I will take that with me forever."

Earlier in the season, Cho revealed that she had loved dance as a child, but quit when someone called her a "fat ballerina."

"Thank you for the opportunity to let me dance," she said. "I'm going to keep dancing."

Cho and her professional partner, Louis Van Amstel, came into Tuesday's episode in last place, collecting just 18 points out of 30 for their colorful, pride-themed samba. She performed in a rainbow dress and said she wanted to promote pride and self-acceptance after a rash of suicides by gay teens in recent weeks.

Judge Bruno Tonioli praised Cho for "wearing the rainbow flag," but he said he couldn't overlook her errors and faulty footwork.

Judges' scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which couple is ousted each week.

Tuesday's episode also included a trio of musical performances. A slimmed-down Ne-Yo sang his new single, "One in a Million." Michael Bolton, who was eliminated as a "Dancing" contestant last week, returned to the ballroom as a last-minute substitute for scheduled performer Susan Boyle, who was sick.

Bolton sang "Hallelujah," backed by a children's choir.

Pro dancers Mark Ballas and Val Chemerkovskiy (brother to the show's Maksim) performed a bizarre duel: Ballas played guitar, Chemerkovskiy played violin, then they each tried to outdance each other.

Returning to dance Monday will be actors Jennifer Grey, Kyle Massey and Florence Henderson; singer-actress Brandy; athletes Kurt Warner and Rick Fox; reality stars Audrina Patridge and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino; and Bristol Palin.

Let's be honest; Bristol Palin should have been released on the first elimination. She was terrible. I have a feeling the judges are coddling her. Too bad.

After I read the headline I immediately thought of Jessica Simpson. She can help with that.

Margaret should have been voted off. She improved from the first week (during week 2), then went backwards on the 3rd week. You can't get by on personality this year, as there are a lot of really good dancers. It will get harder and harder to stay in because there is no place to hide if you're not that good. Do you hear me Sitch? Either Sitch or Bristol will be gone next week. Both are not that good. Then I think Kurt or Mrs Brady will be history.

I love Margaret Cho...sorry to see her go but I knew it was coming.

Margaret was not good, so the vote off was right. Bristol phoned it in. She does that again she's gone next week.

I'm sad to see her go - she was fun. But after all the gay pride, rainbow explanations I figured that would cost her a lot of votes.

Her bad footwork and bad timing cost her votes. I was so mad at her, because she was better than a few other dancers. She camped it up, the first week and didn't appear to take it seriously. She hunkered down week 2 and did her best dancing on the show. Then we get week 3 and yikes! She was off the beat, and stomping around the stage. So disappointed as she was one of my favorites.

Wasted energy ...both the post and moderation. ABC cannot boost the ratings on a dying show.

Three minutes on the winner end of season is the only interest I've had for 5 years.

Well, I've been watching the show since the first year, but for some reason no one ever seems to admit they're fans of the show. Since it's almost always in the top 5 rated shows, surely my husband and I aren't the only people watching!

My wife and I watch every week. Not quite sure what is meant by wasted energy. show has been #1 for past 3 weeks, and its results show has been #4 and #5. Does not sound like a dying show to me. Sorry you have had so little interest. Maybe you could stop wasting your energy with something you don't like and do something different.

And I have to ask, does Susan Boyle follow through with any appearances she's scheduled for? Every time I see her name it's followed by "last minute cancellation" or something like that.

Huffpo posters never disappoint. The article is mainly about Cho but, as usual, the Palin haters turn it into a rant against Bristol. Too funny. The obsession just cracks me up.

I stated that Bristol was not as good a dancer because her getting inflated scores is the reason Margaret Cho is gone.  Bristol was the 3rd worst dancer and should be gone.  That affected Cho and this my comment was about Cho.

But dream on if you think anyone is wasting energy hating anything Palin.
