Robert Rizzo Makes $2 Million Bail

Los Angeles Times:

Former Bell City Manager Robert Rizzo, who is facing 53 charges that he helped misappropriate millions in public funds, will be released from jail after Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mary Lou Villar said she was satisfied that the money being posted for his $2-million bail was not linked to the money he made in made in Bell.

Rizzo must wear an electronic monitoring device and surrender his passport.

It strikes me as bizzarre that the mayor's sister is making rulings in this case. As far as I know she is a misdemeanor judge-- who rules for the prosecutors in all instances.

Can't they get another judge?

I heard his mother in law posted 1 million dollar cash bond and 5 relatives put their houses on the line. So much for not getting along with the in laws!

Turns out he's got a wife. Her mother posted the bail. Apparently she is a real estate mogul who put up a few properties.
