In case anyone's interested, the image of the three Mexican guys that's causing all the fuss is actually an original photo by Christopher Floyd, an English photographer.

It was taken in 2006. I was on assignment with Chris doing a story about the Minutemen of Arizona for British GQ which appeared in October of that year. There's a pdf of the magazine page on my facebook wall (Sanjiv Bhattacharya).

If you want to read the whole story, message me on facebook and I'll send it to you.

if its this bad in 2010, just try to imagine how "Wille Horton-ish" the racially-tinged ads will be in 2012, but that is not the biggest concern which is that partisan attack ads can now be funded by foreign interests after the SCOTUS "Citizens United" ruling which will undoubtedly undermine American democracy, despite what Judge Alito thinks (re: his reaction to Obama's point about this at the last State of the Union address)

Maybe there was a sale? Or the same group that donated these racist adds just bought the scariest looking picture of Latino men they could buy from StockPhoto.com?

It must be the only three minorities in the country that are willing to associate themselves with the GOP and the TP. All the other minorities are gonna be after these guys for siding with the 'wrong' side.

These pseudo candidates are pandering to the illiterate tea baggers who hate anyone of color! The real culprits are the greedy corrupt corporations and their republican lobbyist who want to maintain the division between the rich and working people at least those that are employed!

Republicans think their base is so ignorant that they dont watch the news and would never catch the duplicate picture. Oh wait they'd never hear about it on Fox News. Nevermind.

Vitters opponent is the bluest of all blue dogs, Charlie Melancon. His ads here in Louiisana brag about opposing healthcare, cap and trade, the moratorium. What a poor choice for us libs to have to make. But Vitter holds the edge in ickiness for sure.
